Obituary: Virgil H. Stone, 89, of Grinnell, died on , 29, 2014, at Grinnell Regional Medical . A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m., , 2, 2014, at the Smith in Grinnell with the Rev. Christine Pauley officiating. Casket Bearers will be Dennis Akins, Mark Allen, Boyd Francis, Brian Graham, Steve Jones and Darren Walton. Interment will be at the Sheridan near Grinnell. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning 2:00 p.m. on with the family present from 5:30 p.m. to 7: 30 pm on . Memorials may be directed to the Sheridan Methodist Church. Virgil was born on 3, 1925, on the family farm near Malcom to Henry and Mary Rodale Stone. He was raised on the family farm and attended rural school before graduating from Grinnell High School. Following his education he worked for Campbell Implement and assisted his family and neighbors with farming. On May 14, 1948, he was married to Dorothy J. Neitzel at Victor, Iowa. The couple operated a grain and livestock farm in Sheridan Township and he sold seed corn until their retirement in 1996. retirement they moved to Grinnell to make their home. He was a member of the Sheridan Methodist Church, the Poweshiek Farm Bureau and was a former member of the Sheridan Township board of trustees. He enjoyed fishing in Minnesota, wintering in Texas and camping. Survivors include his son, Richard (Diane) Stone of Ankeny; one son-in-law, Raymond Graham of Grinnell; three grandchildren, Kym Howe, Brian (Kari) Graham and Stacy (Darren) Walton; and six great grandchildren, Jacob, Jessie and Jenna Howe; Nina and Libby Walton and Alayna Graham. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy; one daughter, Barbara Graham; one brother, Harold Stone; and one sister, Marie Fogel. |

Obituary: Stacie Dawn Stone, 45, passed away 7, 2017. Memorial services will be at 5:00 p.m., , 12, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church (1100 Se Sharon Dr. Ankeny, IA 50021). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Stacie was born 25, 1971 in Carroll, IA to Dale and Irene (Berns) Janssen. She graduated from Southern Cal High School in 1990 and then attended Simpson ; she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority; she attained her Bachelors Degree in Computer Science in 1994. Stacie was united in marriage on 1, 1994 to Aaron Stone in Ames, Iowa. were blessed with two children, Nate and Kayla. Stacie enjoyed watching her childrens many activities; including Kayla playing softball and running track; and Nate perform in his many musical concerts and competitions. In her free time she also loved to play computer games and keep friends and family updated on her childrens activities on Facebook. Left to cherish her memory are Stacies husband, Aaron Stone; and children, Nate and Kayla, all of Ankeny; brother, Steven (Marylou) Janssen and their children Christopher, Tiffany, Daniel and Steffany of Auburn, IA; sister, Sheila Janssen and daughter Casey; Aunts, Darlene and Jean and Uncles, Duane and Don, along with many extended family members.
