Obituary: PATRICIA LOUISE STANTON West Des Moines Patricia Stanton, 85, passed away , 8, 2015 at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. services will be held 2 p.m. at McLarens Chapel with burial at Resthaven in West Des Moines. Casual attire is suggested by the family. Patricia was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming the daughter of Francis Earl and Alberta Lucille (Hunter) Warner. Her family immediately moved to Albia, Iowa and then to West Des Moines in 1945 where four generations of her family lived on the same street. (9th Street in West Des Moines). She was a 1947 graduate of Valley High School. She is survived by her son, Chuck Stanton of Ankeny; daughter, Patty (Fred) Thompson of Grimes; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Stanton; brother, Earl Robert Warner; and great-grandson, Rylie G. A luncheon and visitation gathering will be held from noon until 2 p.m. prior to the service at McLarens Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Patricias family. Obituary: Lois L. Stanton, 91, of Onawa, Iowa, formerly of Kansas, died , 25, 2015 at Elmwood Centre in Onawa, Iowa. A graveside memorial service will be held 11:30 A.M. , 5, 2015 at the Osage City in Osage City, Kansas, followed by a luncheon at the Osage City First United Methodist Church. are under the direction of Rush Family Service in Onawa. Lois was born 23, 1923, in Osage City, Kansas, the daughter of Jacob Tazwell and Lucy (Schaefer) Herold. Growing up on a farm, she attended school in Osage and graduated from Lyndon High School. She met her future husband, John, at a Snappy Lunch dance. she moved to Kansas City to work in a job supporting the war effort, John proposed to her, and they married on New Years Eve prior to his service in World War II. Johns military career led them to live in California, Kansas, where sons John and Michael were born, Colorado, Massachusetts, and France, where daughter Annette was born. When they moved back to the United States, Lois and her children returned to the farm to help her mother, Lucy Herold, while John was stationed in Texas. The family moved to town when John retired from the Army. She and John realized a major goal in their lives when their children each graduated from college. John went on to earn an Ed.D., Mike studied for a MBA, and Annette achieved a Ph.D. Lois worked for many years at Citizens State Bank in Osage until her retirement. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and served as the congregation collection treasurer for several years. Lois enjoyed spending time with her family, bowling with friends, relaxing at her sisters and cousins cabins in the Ozarks, and playing with her dog. Lois is survived by her children and their spouses, John and Debby Stanton of Onawa, IA and San Tan Valley, AZ, Mike and Tammy Stanton of Asheville, NC, and Annette Stanton and Eric Cleveland of Los Angeles, CA, as well as grandchildren and great grandchildren in Iowa, South Dakota, Colorado, and Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob Tazwell and Lucy (Schaefer) Herold and her husband, John Stanton, who passed away in 1982. |
