Obituary: Vera Louise Stafford, age 96, of ville, Iowa, formerly of Seymour, Iowa, passed away , 27, 2015 at ville and Rehab, ville. Vera was born 2, 1919 in Mendota, Missouri to John and Antonietta (Saccaro) Sebben. She was united in marriage to Gerald Edwin Stafford on 5, 1939 in Liberty, Missouri. From this union, they had two children, Gary and Randall Randy. Throughout her lifetime Vera worked at Waynes Café, Deflecta Shield, and Iowa Steel and Wire. Vera is survived by her sons, Randall Randy (Judy) Stafford of Albia, Iowa and Gary Lee (Betty) Stafford of Moore, Oklahoma; Four Grandchildren, Rick Lee (Karen) Stafford of Moore, Oklahoma, Mark Anthony (Tracy) Stafford of Edmund, Oklahoma, Jerry Dean (Maura) Stafford of Van Meter, Iowa, and Brian Keith Stafford of Norwalk, Iowa; Five Great-grandchildren, Grant Stafford of Edmund, Oklahoma, Jeren Anthony Everette Stafford of Albia, Iowa, Jalen Robert Stafford of Norwalk, Iowa, Jance Nichols of Edmund Oklahoma and Madison (Nichols) Knight of Oklahoma City; and a sister, Isabel (Sebben) Lemke of Beaverdale, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Antonietta Sebben; her husband, Gerald Stafford; two sisters, Albena (Sebben) Carpenter and Marie (Sebben) Pylant. There are no scheduled funeral services at this time. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Seymour First Responders and may be mailed to Lange and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., ville, Iowa, 52544. Obituary: Obituary of Sonya Faye Meade Stafford Sonya Faye Meade Stafford was born 7, 1936 in Wausau, WI to Phillip and Della (Hettinga) Meade. She passed away on 24 in Fairfield IA. On 13, 1954 she married Harry E. Stafford in Tucson, AZ. Sonya was a charter member and first president of the Harvard, IL Jaycee-ettes, president of the parent/teacher association, Matron of Eastern Star for which she received her 50-year pin in 2007 and Assistant Director of the Harvard Rainbow Girls. Sonya taught School at the First Presbyterian Church in Harvard where she was a 50+ year member, on the board of Deacons and served as Clerk of Session. She was a campfire leader, branch chairperson for the American Diabetes Association and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Sonya served on the Harvard Hospital Board, Harvard Greater Historical Society and the Harvard Library Board. moving to Fairfield with Harry in 2009, she became a member of Chapter X P.E.O., Gamma Circle at the Presbyterian Church, Jefferson Hospital Auxiliary, and Fairfield Womens Club. Along with Harry, Sonya was co-owner of Stafford Shoes for 30 years. Upon closing the store in 1985, Sonya went to work as dispatcher for Harvard Police, Fire and Rescue as well as crossing guard for the school district. She served as an election judge and sat on the Board of Directors for the Mary D Ayer Apartments, was receptionist and water billing clerk for the City of Harvard. retiring with Harry in 1994, Sonya enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, reading, traveling and spending time with grand and great grand children. moved to Fairfield, IA, in 2009 where she joined the First Presbyterian Church and served on the Session and was acting Clerk for a short time. She was a member of Chapter OO P.E.O., Gamma Circle at the Presbyterian Church, Jefferson Hospital Auxiliary, and Fairfield Womens Club. She is survived by her daughters, LeAnne (Jim) Edgeton of Fairfield, IA and Sally (Paul) Anderson of Houston, TX; eight grandchildren – Karin (Brendon) Edmiston, Kim (Cory) Hubbard, Kristin (Cole) Smith all of Houston, TX, Ryan Stafford, Joe Stafford, and Marissa Stafford, all of Chicago, Jim (Adena) Edgeton of Pella, IA, and Jon (Caroline) Edgeton of Des Moines, IA. Sonya has 12 great grand children. She is also survived by three aunts, many cousins and her brothers Jerry (Mariann) Meade and Phil (Linda) Meade, both of Tucson, AZ, and Arthur (Sandy) Petersen of Tri Cities, WA. Sonya was preceded in death by her husband Harry in 2012, mother in 2007, father in 1979, infant daughter in 1960, brother Wesley in 1960 and son Jeff in 2007. Services will be at First Presbyterian Church, Fairfield, IA at 10:00 am , 30,2015 with a luncheon following. Graveside services will be in the stone chapel at Mt. Auburn , Harvard, IL at 10:30, , 31, 2015 with a luncheon following at First Presbyterian Church in Harvard. Obituary: Philip Stafford, age 72 of Albia, passed away on , 3, 2014, at the Manor Services in West Des Moines, Iowa. Philip was born 11, 1942, on the family farm in Brompton, Iowa to John Elwood and Irene (DeLong) Stafford. He graduated from Albia High School in 1960. He married Lila Mae Kuhlman on 12, 1970 in Falls City, Nebraska. Philip managed a country club in both Albia, IA and Falls City, NE before working as an electrician at Meisner Electric and later going to work for Unico at Cargill, in Eddyville before retiring in 2007. Philip enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and playing golf. Philip is survived by his wife, Lila; a son, Mark (Jayne) Stafford of Knoxville, TN; a granddaughter, Lindsey (Wade) Jankowski; 2 great grandkids, Jake and Kenna Jankowski; two sisters, Rosalie Hughes of Moravia, IA, and Karen Carter of Windsor Heights, IA; two brothers, Thomas (Julie) Stafford of Albia, IA and Jeffrey (Jean) Stafford of Shreveport, LA; and eight nieces and nephews, Sandra Lewis, Steven Carter, Cynthia Carter, Jill Finneman, John Stafford, Josh Stafford, Susan Stafford and Braden Oliver. He was preceded in death by his parents, J. Elwood and Irene Stafford; and a sister in infancy, Priscilla Ann Stafford. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., , 13, 2014, at the Tharp in Albia, with Pastor Richard Grimes officiating. Per Philips request, his body has been cremated and a private family burial will be held at a later date at Eslinger . Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m., , 13, 2014, at the Tharp in Albia.
