Obituary: Erma Carole (Bennett) Sprenger, 87, of Donnellson, Iowa, passed away at 5:05 a.m., , 6, 2014 in Amarillo, Texas. Born May 31, 1927 in Ponca City, Oklahoma the daughter of Louis and Eva (Sholley) Bennett. On 6, 1949 she married Walter L. Sprenger in Donnellson, Iowa. He preceded her in death on 11, 1993. Survivors include her one son Randel (Margo) Sprenger of Maquoketa, three daughters Sheryl (Scott) McCracken of Dumas, Texas, Sue (Gary) Harris of Central City, Iowa and Kim (Scott) Sprenger-Shephard of Iowa City, Iowa, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Walter, four brothers and one sister. Erma was a member of the Zion Mennonite Church in Donnellson. She and Walter farmed for forty four years. Erma loved all animals and birds, she loved to read and dearly loved being with her family - children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family will meet with friends from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. on , 14, 2014 at the Zion Mennonite Church in Donnellson, Iowa. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. , 14, 2014 at the Zion Mennonite Church in Donnellson, Iowa with Pastor Marcia Yoder-Schrock officiating. Obituary: Rosella E. Sprengelmeyer, age 94, of Dubuque, IA, passed away peacefully at 8:50 a.m. on , 21, 2015, at Mercy Medical -Dubuque, surrounded by her loving family. To honor Rosellas life, funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on , 28, 2015, at Holy Spirit Parish, Sacred Heart Church, 2215 Windsor Avenue, with Rev. Kyle M. Digmann officiating. To celebrate Rosellas life, family and friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. on , 28, 2015, at Holy Spirit Parish, Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary . Behr , 1491 Main Street is in charge of arrangements. Rosella was born on 6, 1921, in Worthington, Iowa, daughter of Edward and Olive (Pross) Fiedler. Directly out of high school, Rosella earned her cosmetology license and worked as a hairdresser at Coates & Corcoran Beauty Shop. Shortly after her beauty career had begun her romantic destiny was discovered and she met the love of her life and future husband, Frederick C. Sprengelmeyer. were united in marriage on 4, 1942, at St. Marys Catholic Church in Dubuque. were blessed with 53 adoring years together before he was called home on 11, 1996. Rosella was a devoted wife and mother who also graciously and compassionately cared for Grandma Sprengelmeyer while lovingly nurturing five children of her own. In her free time she enjoyed cooking and creating intricate needlework projects, especially cross stitching. Rosellas greatest joy though was found in the precious moments where she was in the company of her family. Rosella was a faith filled woman and a longtime and loyal member of Sacred Heart Church and the Rosary Society. Rosella, along with all those who knew and loved her, were given the gift of 94 wonderful years of treasured memories. Her physical absence from our lives leaves an obvious void and a sorrow which only time will heal, but we find peace and comfort in knowing and trusting that her soul now rests in a perfect state for eternity. Rosella is survived by her children, Frederick E. Sprengelmeyer, Hazel Green, WI, Karen (Mack) Bealmer, Macon, MO, Barbara (Donald) Preston, Dubuque, IA, Betty Sprengelmeyer, Dubuque, IA, and Jean (Douglas) Kapp, Dubuque, IA; her 8 grandchildren, Derek (Susan) Erhart, Tammy (Tom) Spudich, Christopher Erhart, Brian (Carrie) Preston, Todd (Tara) Preston, Beth Preston, Jeremy (Alicia) Kapp, and Melissa (Brent) Culbertson; her 18 great-grandchildren, Eadaion Erhart, Deaglin Erhart, Bryce Erhart, Leiliah Erhart, Noelle Erhart, Alexis Spudich, Jarred Spudich, Jacob Spudich, Hunter Preston, Taylor Preston, Noah Preston, Paige Preston, Mia Preston, Samuel Culbertson, Aaron Culbertson, Blair Kapp, MaryEllen Kapp and Kiefer Kapp; her siblings, Bernard (Joan) Fiedler, Lancaster, WI, Richard (Eileen) Fiedler, Lancaster, WI, and Mary Jane (Roger) Ellis, Lancaster, WI; her sisters-in-law, Gladys Fiedler, Beloit, WI, Gertrude Fiedler, Platteville, WI, and Florence Yates, North Fort Myers, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Ada was united in marriage to Arnold Sprecher on 9, 1939, at the parsonage of Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden. Arnold and Ada farmed north of Ogden until the couple moved into town in 1978. Ada was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where she enjoyed being active in Ladies Aid, LWML, and the quilting group for many years. Loving and devoted mother of Ardyce (Jerry) Fangmann of Waunakee, Wisconsin, and Arlyn (Leta) Sprecher of Overland Park, Kansas; three grandchildren, Lisa Fangmann and her husband Bruce Johnson, Jered (Christine) Sprecher, and Megan (Kevin) Schumm; five great-grandchildren, Levi, Ezra, and Avram Sprecher, Peri and Lyla Schumm; three sisters-in-law, Jeanette Sprecher, Leone Schmoldt, and Oletha Sprecher. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arnold of 69 years of marriage, two sisters, Edith and Ethel, four brothers, Cleo, Howard, Marvin and Milan, and a grandson, Joel Fangmann.
