Obituary: Lawrence "Larry" Snyder, 80, passed away peacefully in Des Moines, IA, after a brief illness. services will be 11 a.m. , 20, 2017 at McLarens Chapel in West Des Moines with burial at Resthaven . Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time on at McLarens. Larry was born and raised in Denver, CO, and graduated from South High School in 1955. He earned his Bachelor and Masters degrees from the University of Northern Colorado. Larry's passion was teaching. He taught social studies, geography and history for 33 years in the Littleton Public school district. He met the love of his life, Lorna C. Sobey, when they were both teaching in Ft. Morgan, CO. enjoyed 55 years of marriage and had one daughter, Karen. Quick witted and at times sharp tongued, Larry was giving, generous and loved spending time with his grandson, Henry. He loved all animals, polka dancing, British humor, talking politics, travel and chocolate. He is survived by his wife, Lorna; daughter, Karen; grandson, Henry; sister, Sharon; great-niece, Johanna; ex-son-in-law, Bill; and many dear relatives and friends. He will be truly missed. |

Obituary: Kenneth W. Snyder, 83, of Davenport, passed away , 18, 2014. services will be held at 11:00 AM , 22, 2014 at Davenport First Church of the Nazarene. Visitation will be from 5:00 \ 8:00 PM at the Runge Mortuary. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. On 16, 1964 he married Marriett Springsteen in Silvis, IL. Mr. Snyder was employed by the Milwaukee Railroad for 35 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the First Nazarene Church in Davenport where he served on the board. He enjoyed remodeling homes and helping others in need. Survivors include his wife, Marriett; children, Mark, Debbie, Rita, and Diane; grandchildren, Danny, Nathan, Shawn, Collin, Blake, Andy, Tommy, Kevin, Kortney, Drake and Dillon; numerous great grandchildren; and one sister, Evelyn. He was preceded in death by children, Joy, Jerry and Rocky and three sisters. |
