Obituary: Rockwell City – Laura M. Sidmore 89, passed away , 15, 2015 surrounded by her loving family, at the Sunny Knoll Centre, Rockwell City. services will be 10:30 a.m. , Nov. 18, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Rockwell City, with Pastor James Hoover Mossman officiating. Burial will be at Rosehill . Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. at the Palmer & Swank , Rockwell City. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family. Laura is survived by her husband Sheldon; daughter Jill (Gregg) Haden of Fort Dodge; granddaughters, Jennie Haden of Waterloo, and Jamie Haden of Fort Dodge; sisters, Pauline (Keith) Martin of Fort Dodge, and Alice Billie (Tony) Hardyk of Sioux City; brothers, Mervin (Rachel) Berg of Twin Lakes, and Alan (Shirley) Berg of Rockwell City; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Richard and Hulda (Johnson) Berg; sisters, Irene Johnson, Evelyn Larson, Mildred Schoepke, and Gladys OTool; and brothers, Richard Berg Jr., Elmer Berg, and Carl Berg. Laura Marie Berg Sidmore was born 10, 1926 on a farm near Piper, Iowa. Laura graduated from Rockwell City High School, with the Class of 1943. Following her education, she worked for the Navy Department in Washington, D.C. On 28, 1948 she was united in marriage to Sheldon Sidmore at the Skaraborg Lutheran Church in Piper. The couple made their home in Rockwell City. Laura worked for a gas company, the Extension office, before working at the Union State Bank for 30 years until her retirement. She was an active member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church, WELCA, and Twin Lakes Golf Club. Laura enjoyed reading, cards, golf, and especially spending time with family and loving her granddaughters. |

Online condolences may be left under the obituary category of www.powersfh.com. David Wayne Sidie was born 23, 1950 in Sparta, WI to Gerald Sidie and Elaine (Brudos). He graduated from George S. Parker High School in Janesville, WI and received his Bachelors Degree from Milton . David served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. On 7, 1977 he was united in marriage to Vickie Hodge in Janesville, WI. Three children were born to this union. later divorced. He lived in Wisconsin before moving to Creston in 2005, after he retired, to be closer to his family. David is survived by two daughters Sarah Sidie and Jennifer (husband Dustin) Bowers, both of Creston; one son Benjamin (wife Alissa) Sidie of Sparta, WI; one brother Jerry Sidie (Betz) of West Glacier, Mont.; two sisters Diana Ray of Janesville, WI; Jakki (husband Jerry) Harnack of Janesville, WI and six grandchildren Ashley and Cameron Sidie, Jackson Stuhr, Alexandra and Alexander Smith and Kane Bowers. He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved dog Bear. |
