Obituary: Rockwell City - Verle Keith Sexton 85, died , May 17 2016. Verle passed away at Sherwood, Iowa doing what he loved to do, farming. Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m. , May 23, at St. Paul Lutheran & Presbyterian Church, Rockwell City with Pastor James Hoover Mossman officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. at the Church until service time. Burial will be at Rosehill , Rockwell City, with Military Graveside Rites by the Rockwell City Veterans Organization. Palmer & Swank , Rockwell City is serving the family. Verle Keith Sexton was born on 15, 1930 to Alfred and Kate (Holder) Sexton. Verle was the second youngest of five children. He was raised on a farm near Sherwood, Iowa, graduating from Rockwell City High School with the Class of 1948. In 1951, Verle served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1953. In 1955, he was united in marriage to Marva Cook. established their home and farmed southwest of Rockwell City, near Sherwood. To this union three sons were born. The couple later divorced. Verle lived in the Rockwell City community his entire life. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, and AmVets. Verle was proceeded in death by his parents; a sister Doris; and a brother Franklin. Verle is survived by his sons, Michael (Becky) Sexton of Rockwell City, George (Tam) Sexton of Rockwell City, Mark (Jennifer) Sexton of Union City, Ga.; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brothers, Robert Bob (Teresa) Sexton of Manson, Dale (Mary) Sexton of Rockwell City; and many close family members and friends. |

Obituary: Richard Lee Sexton, 80, of Davenport passed away on , 31, 2016 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am at Davenport Memorial Park on 5, 2016. Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. Online tributes and condolences may be expressed by visiting www.rungemortuary.com. He was born the third of thirteen children on 26, 1936 in Davenport the son of John and Anna Margaret (Devlin) Sexton. Richard proudly served in the Army from 1958 to 1960, serving in Germany and Texas. He was united in marriage to Joan Munden. She preceded him in death in 1987. Richard loved fishing, camping, traveling to Colorado and spending time outdoors. Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Richard (Dottie) Sexton, Dubuque, Cheri Sexton, Davenport, Sean (Maureen Mondora) Sexton, Des Moines; grandchildren: Mia (Jake) Palen; Michael (Kristina) Sexton; Ricky (Crystal Davis) Sexton, Brittney Sexton, Kylie Miller, Andrew Miller, Alec Miller and Adrian Alread; five great grandchildren; siblings: Dolores Susie Loose, Daniel Sexton, Theresa Woodard, E. Jane Richmiller, William Sexton, Kathleen Creer and Timothy Sexton. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, wife and siblings: David Sexton, M. Patricia Schultz, M. Gertrude Miller, J. Michael Sexton and Terrence Sexton. |
