Obituary: Joe Henry Song, of Phoenix, AZ, went to be with the Lord on 29, 2014 surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 92. Born 16, 1921, in San Francisco, California to Jew She Song (father) and Kwan Youn Show Song (mother), he grew up in Chandler, later moved to Scottsdale, and graduated from Scottsdale High School in 1939. Joe attended Curtis Wright Technical Institute ( 1941) and then served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1945 as a 3rd Class Aviation Maintenance Mechanic, which spurred his lifelong passion for airplanes. Following his honorable discharge from the Navy, Joe attended New York City ( 1947- 1948). Joe graduated from Arizona State in Tempe in 1951 with a B.S. in Accountancy. He was a charter member of both the American Legion Post #50 and the First Chinese Baptist Church. Joe married Sue Jean Tang on 3rd, 1950. Joe was an avid reader and enjoyed trips with the family. Joe was a successful entrepreneur serving others through his various businesses as an insurance agent, accountant and helping many with their immigration activities to enter the U.S.A. to seek a better life and future for their families. In all his businesses, Joe recognized the financial hardships of many and never turned away someone who earnestly sought his help. Joe never forgot his humble beginnings and in turn lived his life to bless others as he was blessed. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Sue Jean Song, daughters Karen Loui (Jim), Roxanne Ong (Rick), Candace Ong (Greg-deceased), Laureen Ng (Jonathan), Marcelle Ong (Dwayne), grandchildren Stuart Loui, Matthew Loui, Jocelyn Ong Phok (Emmitt), Bradley Ong, Jordan Ng, Jacob Ng, Hayden Ong, Faith Ong and great granddaughter Olivia Phok. He will be deeply missed by his family and those who knew him. Joe is also survived by siblings Mae Kent (Joseph), Jack Song (Mary), Eva Tang (Jimmy-deceased), John Song and many nieces and nephews. Siblings that preceded Joe in death are Lucy Tang, George Song, and Mary Wong. |
