Obituary: Nancy Jean Stair, 85, of Evansville, passed away , 18, 2015, at her home. She was born May 10, 1929, in Richmond, KY, to the late Joseph and Bonnie (Stocker) Brown. She was a native of Jenkins, KY. receiving her Masters degree in education at Eastern Kentucky University, she taught at Union in Kentucky. From 1961 to 1964, she was employed by the Yale University Divinity School Library in New Haven, CT. Thereafter, she was devoted to teaching children with special needs in Somerset, KY, Richmond, IN and Evansville, where she was a pre-school teacher at The Rehabilitation for many years. retirement, she became a volunteer worker with the Live Yers, an after-school program for girls at the YWCA in Evansville, where she guided an annual Black History Month Program. She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Richland, IN. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Bonnie Jo Bowman; nephews, Joseph Bowman and Robert Stair; and niece, Nancy Bowman White. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ernest Stair; brother-in-law, Paul Bowman of Seguin, TX; nieces and nephews; and special friends and caregivers, Harold Grossman and Ruth and Tom Burris of Evansville. services will be 1:00 PM , 22, 2015, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Pastor Mike Turner and Pastor James Ahl, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Obituary: Ernest R. Stair, 78, of Evansville, IN, died , 11, 2016, at Deaconess VNA Charlier Hospice in Evansville. He was born 2, 1937, in Morrisville, PA. He was a native of Dallas, PA, and served in the United State Army from 1955-1957. graduating from Union in Kentucky, he studied at Yale University Divinity School in New Haven, CT. Following graduation in 1964, he was a pastor of United Methodist Churches in Burnside, KY; Nashville and Richmond, Indiana; and Methodist Temple and Albright churches in Evansville. retirement, he was pastor of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Richland, Indiana. Ernie was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Nancy; his parents, Edward and Lorraine Stair; brothers, Norman Stair (Mary Lou), Robert Stair (Jane); nephews, Robert Stair and Joseph Bowman; and niece, Nancy Bowman White. His is survived by his nephew, Daniel Bowman of Seguin, TX; nieces, Ellen Stair Janis and Megan Stair Buchmann of PA, Rebecca Bowman Cockrell of Charlotte, NC; great-nieces and nephews; and special friends and caregivers, Harold Grossman, and Ruth and Tom Burris of Evansville. Born Feb. 11, 1937, in Hamp-stead, Md., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Nina Millender. She married Richard Stailey on May 13, 1958. She was a member of Harlan United Methodist Church. She was a teacher's aide with East Allen Schools for 28 years. She was a volunteer with Harlan Food Bank for over 20 years and care giver with Stephen's Ministry for over 20 years. Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Richard of Leo, Ind.; children, Charles (Darlene) of Fortville, Ind., Mark (Melissa) of Basalt, Colo. and Pam (Don) Greer of Leo; grandchildren, Quinton (Cindi) Greer of Fort Wayne and Damon Greer; and great-grand-children, Shane and Cooper. She was also preceded in death by brother, Charles Millender II. Obituary: E. Marcille Staiger, 84, of Mt. Vernon, passed away , 23, 2015. She was born 20, 1931, in Evansville, IN, to the late Oscar and Lucille (Cotner) Uhde. Marcille and her husband, Arthur Bud Staiger were married for 67 years. She was a fulltime homemaker, artist, and mother. She was artistically talented in painting, drawing and needlepoint. She was a lover of animals and especially cared for those who were homeless or abused. Marcille was a stay at home mother who devoted her life to her children and husband. school, she was always home to greet her children. In the last years of her life, she was caregiver to her husband. Marcille is survived by her husband, Arthur Bud Staiger; children, Jenny (Kent) Staiger Burris, Peggy (Bob) Staiger McBride and Bud (Terri) Staiger; grandchildren, Clay (Ashley) Burris, Maggie, Kelsey and Ryan Staiger, and Joshua McBride; and great-grandchild, Bryce Burris. Private services will be held and entombment will take place in Alexander Memorial Park Heritage Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Posey Humane Society.
