Obituary: KNOX - Laurel E. Singleton, 89, passed away , 2, 2015 in Golden Living , Knox, IN. Laurel was born 28, 1926 in Knox, IN to Perry and Alta (Harness) Singleton and lived in the area all of his life. He was a retired farmer, he attended the Eagle Creek Church, was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, and was a former member of the Knox American Legion and the Knox VFW. On 17, 1959, in Georgia, he was married to the former Carole Risch, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; and four sisters. Survivors include three children, Sandy (Chris) Greanias of Zion, IL, Randal (Leona) Singleton of Muskegon, MI, and Steven (David) Singleton of California; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Service will be held , 12, 2015 at 12:00 noon CST at Eagle Creek Church, Knox, where a gathering will be held on for family and friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Eagle Creek Church. Rannells , Hamlet Chapel is handling arrangements. |

Obituary: John C. Singleton, 82, of Kokomo, passed away at 12:23 a.m. on , 17, 2015 at Community Howard Regional Hospital. John was born on 9, 1933 in Garrard, Kentucky to the late Ernest and Dovie Murphy Singleton. He married Betty Myers on 17, 1962 at Bunker Hill Air Force Base. John retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service and many years as a healthcare facility administrator. He loved spending time with family, particularly his wife, children and grandchildren. John traveled the world while in the Air Force and later enjoyed traveling with his family. He was a long time member of Bible Baptist Church. John is survived by his wife, Betty Singleton; children, John Jeffery (Elvia) Singleton of Glendale, Arizona, Cathy Dawn (Ronald) Graham of Kokomo, Randall Randy Boyd (Sharrie) Singleton of Kokomo, and Julie Christine (Mark) Payne of Carmel.; brother, William (Mary) Singleton of Ohio; sister, Bonnie Buell of Ohio; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. John is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Jesse and Elwood Singleton. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel with Pastor Keith Treadway, Pastor Bill Carmichael and David LeMasters officiating. Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens with military rites performed by the Kokomo VFW 1152 Military Rites Team and the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard. Obituary: Hazel Allen Singleton, age 95, of Greencastle, went to be with the Lord on , 29, 2015. Born 22, 1919 in Johnetta, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Arch and Delia (Abney) Allen. She married William L. Singleton on 12, 1935 and he preceded her in death in 1994. Hazel was a homemaker, working alongside her husband on the family farm. She loved to cook, sew, garden, read, and care for her family. She was a lifetime member of the Bethel Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, Revenna (Kenneth) Richardson of Clayton, Lucy (Darrell) Detro of Greencastle, son, Billy (Virginia) Singleton of Greencastle, and Rebecca (John) Fair of DeLand,FL; sister, Mildred Allen of Lafayette; son-in-law, David Cooper of Texas; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; four step great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Annalene Cooper; son-in-law Maynard Arnold; eight brothers and a sister. services will be held at 11:00 AM on , 1, 2015 at the Hopkins-Rector with Rev Nathan Crouch officiating. On 17, 1959, in Georgia, she was married to Laurel E. Singleton, who survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Sandy (Chris) Greanias of Zion, IL; two sons, Randal (Leona) Singleton, Sr. of Muskegon, MI, and Steven (David) Singleton of California; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Carole was a transporter for Culver Military Academy and attended Eagle Creek Church. There will be no visitation and a memorial service at Eagle Creek Church will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Duneland Dialysis. |
