Obituary: Robert Eugene Sedlmeyer, 84, passed away peacefully on , 14, 2015 at Parkview Regional Hospital. Born on 29, 1930 in Johnstown, PA, he was a steadfast provider, protector, encourager and old-school disciplinarian for his family. He entered into a lifelong vocation as a photoengraver after graduating from Johnstown Catholic High School. He first worked as an apprentice at the Johnstown Tribune-Democrat and later held positions with West Penn Engraving in Greenburg, PA, and the Detroit News in Detroit, MI. moving to Fort Wayne in 1972, he became a platemaker and camera operator for Fort Wayne Newspapers, retiring in 1993. He then worked part-time for the Bagel Station for several years. Bob was a long-time member of St. Jude Catholic Church. He enjoyed reading, putting together jigsaw puzzles, trips to Maumee Bay and points west, and collecting coins and commemorative plates. He spent many joyful hours watching his children and grandchildren at their sporting events and band and cheerleading competitions. He also took great pride in their academic achievements. Surviving are sons, Robert L. (Cheryl) Sedlmeyer, William D. (Laurie) Sedlmeyer and Jeffery R. Sedlmeyer, all of Fort Wayne; daughter Linda L. (William) Colter of Harlan, IN; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Mary Lou (Sansone) Sedlmeyer; parents, Robert and Ruby (Shoemaker) Sedlmeyer; brother, Joseph Sedlmeyer; granddaughter, Valerie Jo Sedlmeyer; and great-grandson, Jude Robertson. Mass of Christian Burial is 1:00 pm on , 18, 2015 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 2130 Pemberton with calling 1 hr prior. Calling also at D. O. Born in Johnstown, PA, she was a consummate homemaker and attentive mother. moving to Fort Wayne, she worked part-time as a clerk at the Medicine Shoppe and tutor at Lane Middle School. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. Mary Lou was a dedicated fan of Another World, and The Young and The Restless, and enjoyed long phone conversations, playing Michigan Rummy, putting together jigsaw puzzles, trips to Maumee Bay and bragging about her childrens and grandchildrens accomplishments. Obituary: Robert P. Sedlack, Jr., 47, South Bend, IN, died on May 30, 2015, in his home. Born in Greencastle, IN, he was the son of Robert and Ellen Sedlack. In 1999, he married Theresa Barnhart at Holy Name Cathedral, Chicago. Robert attended Miller Elementary School and Greencastle High School. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Notre Dame in 1989 and his Master of Fine Arts from Indiana University (Bloomington) in 1993. From 1993 to 1998, he worked at several design firms in Chicago, primarily at Gerhardt and Clemons. Returning to Notre Dame in 1998, Robert taught graphic design with an emphasis on the power of design to inspire social justice. For his teaching, research, and outreach, he was awarded several honors from Notre Dame, including the Alumni Associations Rev. Anthony J. Lauck, CSC, Award, the for Social Concerns Rodney F. Ganey, Ph.D. Faculty Community-Based Research Award, the of Arts & Letters Sheedy Excellence in Teaching Award, and the Universitys Presidential Award. Shortly before his death he became a full professor in the Department of Art, Art History, and Design. Roberts survivors include his parents, Robert and Ellen; wife, Theresa; daughter, Emma Catherine; son, Robert Pierce III (Trey); sister, Catherine Hayek (Thomas); niece and nephew, Ellen and Thomas Hayek, Jr.; father-in-law Daniel P. Obituary: Ellen Miller Sedlack, 78, of Greencastle, was born into eternal life on , Jan. 17, 2017. Born in Chicago, she was the daughter of George and Catherine (Walsh) Miller. In 1962 she married Robert P. Sedlack at Notre Dame and he survives. Mrs. Sedlack earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at St. Xavier , Chicago, and her Master of Library Science at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland. She was the director of the Putnam Public Library from 1972 to 2001. During her tenure, the 1996 addition was built. For this achievement she received the Greencastle Chamber of Commerce Person of the Year award for 2000 and was made a Sagamore of the Wabash in 2001. In addition to her loving husband, survivors include daughter Catherine Hayek (Thomas) of St. Louis; daughter-in-law Theresa Sedlack of South Bend; and four grandchildren, Ellen and Thomas Hayek Jr. and Emma and Robert Sedlack III. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Sedlack Jr. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on , Jan. 20, at Bittles and Hurt . The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. on , Jan. 21, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Greencastle. Interment will follow in Forest Hill . Obituary: Don Wesley Sedberry, 63, Windfall, passed away on , 18, 2009, at his residence. He was born 3, 1946, in Abilene, Texas, to Alton Eloise and Dorothy Bell (Hutchens) Sedberry. On 27, 1985, he married Carolyn Fitch, in Sharpsville, and she survives. He was raised, along with his siblings, in Abilene, Texas, at the Hendrick for Children. He took great pride in his work and earned his journeyman license and served his apprenticeship while he was a member of Plumber and Steam Fitters Union Local 440. He later worked for Delco for 34 years before retiring in 2006. He served in the United States Navy Submarine Service from 1963 to 1967. He was a member of UAW Local 292, former union rep and chairman for skilled trades, member of the Arbor Tree Foundation, lifetime member of the NRA, and former member of the Order of the Free Masons and the Scottish Rite. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and all outdoor activities. He was very patriotic and loved American history and the old west. He also loved bluegrass music and played the banjo and guitar. In addition to his wife, Carolyn Sedberry, he is survived by two daughters, Wendy Orvis, North Little Rock, Arkansas, and Tiffany Sedberry, Windfall; three sons, Anthony Meiring, Indianapolis, Todd (Danielle) Meiring, Gaston, and Don Sedberry, Jr., Kokomo; five grandchildren, Nick Orvis, Mistie Orvis, Cheyenne Meiring, Mason Meiring, and Trenton Meiring; one sister, Connie (Glenn) Weddle, Dewey, Arizona; two brothers, Ronnie (Sandy) Sedberry, Pheonix, Arizona, and Larry (Mavis) Sedberry, Cottonwood, Arizona; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. The funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on at Sunset Memory Garden with Rev. Tennyson Fitch officiating.
