Obituary: Stanislawa Samulski, nee Knyrowicz of Harwood Hgts. Beloved wife of the late Witold. Loving mother of Danielle Omelczuk, Therese Samulski - Korzeniowski and Bogdan Korzeniowski (son-in-law). Beloved godmother and cherished aunt of many nieces and nephews. Stanislawa survived the horrors of WW II. She was taken into slave labor by the Germans from her home in eastern Poland. Liberated by U.S. Forces she became a refugee in France where she met and married Witold. In 1956 she immigrated to the U.S. with her family as a Displaced Person. Stanislawa visited Poland in 1966, but was not able to see her childhood home and remaining family until 30 years later after the fall of the Soviet Union. A loving and caring person, she was always there for family, friends, loved ones, and especially strangers. She said I know what it means to be without a piece of bread and alone in the world. A staunch Catholic, patriotic Pole and loyal American, she practiced the traditions of her faith, homeland and adopted country in her daily life. 8:45 am from Malec & Sons , 6000 N.
