Obituary: Eloise Hurd Molotzak Swets, 93, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away in Orlando, Florida on 10, 2015. Eloise was born in Hinckley Township, Medina , Ohio on 30, 1922 to Ray and Elizabeth Hurd. In 1944, she graduated from Baldwin-Wallace in Ohio, and then moved to Orlando to help in her father’s restaurant located by the Orlando Army Air Base. There she met her husband Nicholas Molotzak and they raised three daughters in the Lake Como neighborhood near downtown Orlando. were married for 31 years until Nick passed away in 1976. Eloise taught 2nd grade in Orange schools in the 1950’s-60’s. She earned her master’s degree from Rollins and became a guidance counselor at Howard Junior High School in the 1960’s until she retired in 1977. She encouraged others to further their education and was a role-model to her children and grandchildren. Eloise was a member of the First Unitarian Church in Orlando for many years and active in the church Alliance group and bazaar thrift store where she developed many friendships. She met and married Ted Swets at the Unitarian Church in 1983. resided in Altamonte Springs and after Ted’s passing in 1994 she moved back to Orlando. Eloise enjoyed family gatherings, playing bridge, gardening, big band music, the Phi-Mu Fraternity, playing piano, travel, visiting Crescent Beach and other Florida beaches, and helping others. She will be remembered for her true kindness, selfless giving nature and spirited positive outlook. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Eloise leaves behind to cherish her memory; her three daughters, Sonia Molotzak Toller Blaum (John), Diane Molotzak Bell, Marlene Molotzak Land, all of Florida; brother Clark Hurd (Sheila) of Melbourne FL; seven grandchildren, Robert Toller, Allison Toller Havens, Zach Bell, Sam Luke Bell, Jesse Bell, Erin Land and Robin Land; five great-grandchildren with one on the way, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Buckley. A memorial gathering to celebrate her life will be held on , 16, 2016, from 12 noon to 3:30 p.m, at the Baldwin Fairchild - Pine Castle Memorial Chapel, 5800 Hansel Ave, Orlando, FL 32809, Pine Castle office - 407-855-5800. |
