Obituary: Ronald Ronnie Sweeting, 76, of Arcadia formerly of Sarasota passed into Heaven and promoted to glory on Jan 18. Ron was born 3/9/34 in Fruitville Sarasota the son of the late Eugene Gene Sweeting and Hallie B. (Shipman) Sweeting. He was known for his love of his Lord and Savior and was proud to be a Cracker cowboy. Survivors include his devoted wife Edith (Brown); daddy to Ronnie D., Shari Sweeting Armstrong (David); step children: Amy Gerhard (Bill) Teri Rios, Sam Deaso (Danielle); Granddaddy to Matthew Eugene Armstrong, Leland Edward Armstrong, Shane, Roxanne & Natalie; step grandchildren: Sybil, Eli, and Liz Deriso, Nick, Mitchell, Alex, and Devin Rios; Brother: G.E. Buck; friend and mother of his two children: Pat Williams Sweeting; in-laws & many, Many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Ron was predeceased by W.E. Walton (Lorena), Flora Belle Daly, Juanita Herbold, Helen Ramsey, Reginald, and Glenn (Nancy). Ron had many accomplishments in life starting with working on ranches with his dad. He loved to work cattle, rope, hunt, and rodeo. having the joy of his children being born he ventured onto many job accomplishments. Some being that of working at his father-in-laws Store Williams Stationary on Main, circulation manager of Manatees Herald Tribune, his own dirt hauling and grading business Tractor Man, Manager for manufactured home community for Newby Management and his greatest joy in this life was the times someone he witnessed to asked Christ to come into their heart and know of our Saviors promise. His love for his family and friends ran deep. He took pride in his heritage and was proud to keep close with his friends and classmates of Sarasota High School Class of 53. He will be deeply missed and we know his Lord said Job well done faithful servant and we say Good ride cowboy, good ride. Memorial services will be 10 A.M. , at Palms-Robarts Chapel with BBQ celebration to follow. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that a tree be planted. under the direction of Palms - Robarts & Memorial Park, Sarasota, FL. |
