Obituary: Claribel Stroup, age 95 went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on 7, 2010. She was born in Oil City, PA. on 19, 1915 to her parents, Elmer John and Claribel (Lupro) Hart. She was married to Stephen Robert Stroup Sr. on 4th 1937. She made her home in Erie, PA for 28 years then moved to Columbia, MO for 28 years after which she move to Glendale, AZ. For 13 years. In 2006 Claribel move to Pensacola, Florida where she made her home at University Pines Retirement Residence. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings and her beloved husband Stephen Robert Stroup, SR., her son John Fredrick Stroup, and her eldest son Stephen Robert Stroup, Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Karen Diane Prichard (Roger) and Cheryl Jane Luckett (Phil). She is also survived by nieces and nephews. Claribel was blessed with 12 Grandchildren and 20 Great grandchildren. She also leaves behind many dear and special friends. And not to be forgotten is her beautiful kitty, Sylvester, who was her joy. Claribel was a devoted wife of 57 years and loving, caring mother to her children. She was a homemaker and an excellent cook. Over the years she was a volunteer for the American Red Cross, was on a bowling league, belonged to a sorority and was an avid golfer and still swinging a club in her 80s! She was loved by all and will be remembered for her beautiful smile and her cute laugh. She was a true example of Proverbs 31:25-30. She is missed but will be in our hearts forever. We wish to express our sincere gratitude to the entire staff of Covenant Hospice for their loving care and comfort during Claribels last days and their continuing support to our family. God bless each and every one of you. A Memorial Service honoring Claribel will be held , 24th at 3:00 P.M. at University Pines residence at 8991 University Parkway in Pensacola, FL.
