Obituary: JANIS LYNETTE GRACE STRENGTH 1934 \ 2014 Janis Strength passed away peacefully at home in Gulf Breeze on 14, 2014 due to complications from a fall. Janis was the youngest of three girls. She grew up in Ozark, Alabama, with her parents, Jim and Belle Grace, and was reared in a neighborhood near many aunts, uncles and cousins. Janis attended Dale High School in Ozark, AL; Birmingham-Southern , and graduated from Auburn University (Auburn, AL) and Washington University (St. Louis) with Masters Degrees in Science Education. Janis and her husband, Robert (Bob) Strength, lived in Gulf Breeze, FL, Greenwood, S.C. and St. Louis, MO before returning to Gulf Breeze to retire. Janis worked for Gulf Power as a Economist and for the public school systems as a teacher of Economics and later Science Departments, winning several awards for Outstanding Teacher and Leader. Janis spent much of her adult life lovingly caring for others, including her sons, her parents, her husband and a number of close friends requiring special care. She was a devoted caregiver, always putting others above her own needs. She was especially supportive of the various agencies involved in the care of children. Janis and Bob enjoyed golfing together and extensive travel. Both were founding members of the Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church and actively participated in the many ministries. Janis was involved in the United Methodist Women, Bible studies and School. She was a member of the Santa Rosa Womans Club and always held her fellow members close to her heart. Janis was passionate about gardening, cooking, swimming and caring for her pets. She supported her Auburn Tigers and was an avid football fan. Janis was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; twin sons, Steven and David; son, Jimmy; parents, Jim and Belle and sister, Roxie Grace Lancaster. Janis is survived by her son, Stewart Sr. and wife, Lori; grandsons, Stewart Jr., Robert and Steven; great grandson, Orin; sister, Anne Grace Hildreth; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at 2:00 p.m., 19, 2014 at the Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church followed at 3:00 p.m. by the memorial service celebrating her life with the Reverends Ruth Knights and Gerald Mundy. Viewing will be held at 11:00 a.m., , 20, 2014 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel with interment to follow at 12:00 p.m. at Bayview Memorial Park. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the prayers, cards and visits during the past several weeks. Obituary: Andrew Joseph Strenecky, Jr. was called to be with the Lord on , 27 , 2014. Andy was born in Scranton, PA on 8, 1932 to Andrew and Anna Strenecky. Andy is an Army Veteran having served from 1955 to 1957. He moved to Brevard in 1957 and began a life long career with Martin Marietta Corporation working extensively with the Vanguard, Gemini and Titan missile projects. Andy was a founding member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Sharpes, FL and a lifetime member of the Elks Club. Andy was an avid supporter of the Boy Scouts of America and once his sons entered the Scouts, he became a Boy Scout leader for many years. He was recognized by the Central Florida Council with many awards including The Silver Beaver Award. Andy Strenecky was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Monica; and his children; Stephen (Sandy), Mary (Richard), Andrew III, Julie (Clint), Joseph (Linda) and Lisa (Mike). He was extremely proud of his three grandchildren; SSgt Brian (US Air Force), P02 Melissa (US Navy) and Austin (Eagle Scout and Honor Student). Andy taught all six of his children to drive and enjoyed the family camping trips which included many hikes through the Ocala National Forest. He and Monica traveled the world and met scores of people many of whom became dear and life long friends. Andy stayed in contact with his co-workers from Martin and many friends from his tenure in the Boy Scouts. Andy always had a wide, welcoming smile for everyone he met, especially on s at Kays Bar-B-Que. If you asked him how he was doing he would answer, If I was any better, Id be twins. He had a big heart and was always ready to help any of his kids with their projects and charity events. He enjoyed life and even through his battle with cancer, he found many things to laugh about, cheer for and love. He will be greatly and sincerely missed by his family and friends, both stateside and abroad. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be sent to VITAS Innovative Hospice of Brevard (4450 W.
