Obituary: Betyan Waychoff Straw passed away peacefully on 21,2009 at Sylvan in Clearwater, FL. She was born in a farmhouse in Watkins ,IA on 5,1922. She grew up during The Great Depression, WW II and became a certified member of The Greatest Generation. Betyan was a proud and dedicated Marine Corps wife-she was the BEST friend of many---and the estest mom in the whole wide world to her 3 loving boys. Betyan was preceded in death by her husband Charles A Straw-Maj USMC retired. She is survived by her sons and their wives: Dennis and Roxanne, Wade and Elaine and Michael and Claudia. In addition she is survived by her brothers and wives, Robert and Joyce Waychoff of Carlsbad, CA and Terry and Linda Waychoff of Watkins, IA, 4 grandchildren and 4 ½ great grandchildren. May the overwhelming sadness of her friends and family be tempered and replaced by thoughts of the inspiring life and love of this beautiful woman. She is now with the angels who were always there to help her through the difficult times. We love and miss you beyond words, Mom.
