Obituary: Virginia Raye Strange, 84, of W. Melbourne, FL passed away 1, 2014. A native of Meadville, PA, Virginia has resided in the Melbourne area for many years. She is a member of the Wesley Methodist Church. She also was a member of the auxiliary VFW club. She enjoyed going to dinner and the movies. She also enjoyed traveling to visit her family, walking the beach and collecting shells. She is preceded in death by her brother, David Roschi and also a grandson, Jason Kobylinski. Virginia is survived by her husband, Robert A. Strange of Melbourne, FL; A son, Michael Shaffer and his wife, Patricia from West Bath, ME; a step-daughter, Lynda Grondahl from Tucson, AZ; Step sons: Mark Grondahl and his partner LeeAnn Wood from Alachua, FL; Mike Flannery from Blacksburg, VA; Patrick Flannery from Palm Bay, FL and Robert Strange from Melbourne, FL . She is also survived by four grandchildren: Sadie Mirick, Jessica Masi, Max Grondahl and Dr. Ryan Kobylinski; and a sister-in-law, Nora Roschi. She also has several great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held (6/5) at 11AM at Wesley Methodist Church in West Melbourne. |

Obituary: Robert us Strange, 88, of Melbourne died (7/3) at his home. A native of Washington, Indiana, he came to the Melbourne area 27 years ago from Huber Heights, Ohio. Robert had been a general sales manager for a refrigeration equipment company prior to his retirement. An avid golfer, once he retired and moved to the Melbourne area he worked for many years at the Habitat Golf Course as a starter. He had been a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church here in Melbourne and also was a race car driver. A veteran of WW II, he served in the US Navy and also was a member of the VFW serving both as Post Commander and Regional Commander. He also was a member of the American Legion. Survivors include his sons: Michael (wife, Jewel) Flannery of Virginia, Patrick (wife, Kyong) Flannery of Palm Bay, and Robert Anthony (wife, Kelly) of Melbourne; sister: Ginger Boyd of St. Louis; brothers: William of Washington, IN, Larry of SC; grandchildren: Patrick Flannery, Michael P. Strange, Kelly Flannery, Kristina Flannery; great-grandchildren: Patrick P. Flannery, Sarah Flannery, and Angela Hubler. |

Obituary: Joyce Ann Bennett Strange went to her eternal rest surrounded by family on , 23, 2014 in Tallahassee. A memorial service will be at 2:00 , 29, 2014 at Bethel United Methodist Church. Visitation will follow at the Bethel fellowship hall. Born 20, 1938 she was the youngest child of W.M. and Lucille Bennett. She was predeceased by her much missed husband, Charles Strange Jr., her parents, two sisters, and one brother. She was a Registered Nurse and was employed as Supervisor at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 2003. She generously donated her time and skills on several medical missions to Haiti. She loved being a nurse and helping people. She traveled to many parts of the world and enjoyed every minute of her adventures, which included sailing the Caribbean, wandering the Alps, and exploring the Greek isle Delos. She will be dearly missed by her son, Charles Chuck Strange (Donna) of Roswell, NM; daughter, Karen Strange of Tallahassee; her sister, Elizabeth Oredia Hamilton (Clark) of Tallahassee; her granddaughter, Jessica Strange (Todd Peak) of Crawfordville; her grandsons, Matthew Strange and Brandon Strange of Tallahassee; her great-grandson, Carter Peak of Crawfordville; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your local Humane Society or Animal Shelter. |
