Obituary: William Joseph Strahm Bill 86 left us on 14 2014, in Ocoee, Florida Bill was born 1 1928 to George and Goldie Strahm in Lima, Ohio. Bill retired after 30 years of federal service from the US Army Tank Automotive Command in Warren Michigan. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved hunting and fishing. He was a Shriner and lifetime member of VFW and American Legion. Bill is survived by his wife Rosalyn, son Brad and his wife Maggi, grandchildren Heather, Mathew, Megan and Luke, brother Jack and his wife Betty. His family would like to thank Hope and Vitas Hospice for the loving care they provided. Obituary: Gerald Gerry Strahlendorf, 60, of Naples, FL (formerly of Mays Landing and Wildwood, NJ), passed away on May 15, 2014. Gerry graduated from Roxborough High School, and received his BS degree from East Stroudsburg (PA) University. He was married to Carol Galbiati of Vineland, NJ, on 3, 1991. Gerry worked briefly as a high school biology teacher before turning his summer job into his second career as the owner and manager of the Marlborough Apartments in Wildwood. His love of photography inspired his third career as owner of Absecon MotoPhoto, where he developed his reputation as a wedding and event photographer. In 2010, with his brother Bobs encouragement, he moved to Naples and worked for his brothers pool maintenance business as a cabana boy. He did NOT take his wifes encouragement to wear Speedos to work to encourage tipping. He worked until six months prior to his passing. Gerry was a member of the Absecon-Galloway (NJ) Rotary Club, and served as its treasurer from 1998 to 2010. He was an excellent athlete and especially loved golf and bowling. He proudly displayed the 4 bowling pins he was awarded \ two for games over 275, and two for series over 700. He was an ardent Philadelphia sports team fan but supported Carol in her love of the Red Sox. observing his wife from the sidelines in her practice of Buddhism for their first 22 years together, he joined the SGI-USA (sgi-usa.org) in 2012 and practiced Nichiren Buddhism until his passing. Gerry was without a doubt one of the nicest, kindest, most pleasant people you could ever meet. He literally did not have a bad bone in his body, and had nothing but positive words to say about everyone he met. His smile was wide and his laugh was hearty. He loved his life and fought his diagnosis of leiomyosarcoma with a tooth-and-nail determination to live as long as he could, and in 18 months of treatment he did not complain once - not one single time. He is survived by his wife Carol (Galbiati); his father, Robert H. of Ft. Myers, FL; his brother Robert L. (Linda) of Estero; 19 nieces and nephews, including Robert and Lindsay Strahlendorf, the only two people he ever babysat; and numerous cousins in the Philly area. He also shared a mutual devotion with his toy poodle Sedona. He was predeceased by his mother Doris (Shriver). A memorial celebrating his extraordinary life will be held at 2 PM on , May 24, at Hodges home in Naples.
