Betty was born in Beech Creek, KY and had been a resident of Vero Beach for 49 years coming from Beech Creek, KY. Betty was a homemaker and worked at Woolworths in Vero Beach. She loved to cook and always had the kitchen open to feed anyone in need. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Andrew, of Vero Beach, daughters, Debra Brooks of Vero Beach, Lucretia Steele of Port St Lucie, Pam Loidle of Canton, OH, Alena Steele of Louisiana, brothers, Jimmy Pogue of Beechmont, KY, David Pogue of Ebenezer, KY, sisters, Mary Jo Anderson of Beechmont, KY, Sue Sumner of KY, Kay Anderson of Central City, KY, three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Obituary: Steele, Bennie Fred Freddie Born on 11, 1939 in Freeburn, KY, Freddie went to rejoice with his mother a Hatfield Steele, father Frank Steele, brother Harvey Steele and sisters Virginia Tiny Eldridge and Katherine Kat Chambers on 28, 2013. He was the last of his generation to finally go home to heaven. Everyone loved Freddie. He remembered everyones face and thus, their name! Although born physically and mentally challenged, Freddie was always smiling and happy. He loved his family with a passion. He loved strawberry milkshakes and going to church every possible chance. Before his death he spent most of his time with his niece, Mary Phyllis, whom he had lived with since the early 1970s. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great and even great-great nieces and nephews! Many live in Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Nebraska and Texas. Some of those visiting to pay their last respects include Donna Sue & Jim Bell (AZ), Emily and Rodney Ramos (CA), Jim Chambers and family (FL), and Barbara Jean Parks (MI). Obituary: Steele, Benjamin John Sr, was born on 22, 1938, in Newburgh New York, passed away 2, 2014. Son of Estelle M. Corbett and Benjamin CC Steele. John was born during the famous category 3 hurricane that hit the Northeast coast. While being born the lights went out and the generator power switched on. He is survived by his two sons Benjamin John Jr (Doris) and Robert Kenneth, Grandchildren, Kristen, Benjamin III, Jessica, Alexandra, and Samuel, his extended family, wife Nancy, Daughter Jill Horton (Paul), son William Tilton (Maureen), grandchildren Daniel Tilton, Lukas and Emily Horton. He is also survived by many cousins and close friends. John graduated from Newburgh Free Academy. While in High School he participated in music and sports activities. John went on to graduate first in his class from Orange Community . John was hired by IBM and worked there for 34 years and held various positions in management. With his friends and family John enjoyed golfing, skiing, salt water fishing, scuba diving and flying his Cessna 172. He achieved two holes in one during his golfing years. He also enjoyed umpiring softball and working in the Pro Shop of Mainlands Golf Course. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to All Children's Hospital, 501 6th Ave S, St Petersburg, Fl 33701.
