Obituary: Doris R. Stayton-Brown, 93, passed away on May 16, 2015 at Haven Hospice, Orange Park, FL. Doris was born on 18, 1921 to Albert and Ethel Wilding in Louisville, KY. She married Jesse C. "Jay" Stayton on May 2, 1942. moved to Lafayette, Indiana in 1952, and were married for 42 years, until his death in 1984. Doris married Robert E. Brown in 1992. Doris was an active member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, where she enjoyed quilting, Dorcas Circle, Sewing Circle, makers Extension, Bible School, Faith Families, and the company of many good friends. She was also a member of a Euchre Club. She was very creative and enjoyed painting, art, crafts of all kinds, and entertaining. She was a fantastic cook and creative seamstress for her family members and friends. She loved good food, all things Christmas and fireworks. Doris is survived by her three children: Bonnie Greenwood (Dan) of Arlington, TN, Janet Traenkner (Alan) of Moraga, CA, and Cliff Stayton (Candace) of Jacksonville, FL. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Jennifer, Kelly, Stacey, Wendy, Anna and Victoria. She was blessed with 8 great-grandchildren, and has one surviving sister, Verna Lee Wheeler, of Los Altos, CA.Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ethel Wilding, her husbands, Jay and Bob, her sister, Aljean Plappert, and her grandson, Eric Clifton Stayton.A memorial service will be held at Resthaven Memorial Park, Louisville KY, in .In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Immanuel United Church of Christ in Lafayette, IN. Condolences may be left on Doris Stayton-Brown's online guest book at dignitymemorial.com.The family wishes to thank all of those who lovingly cared for Doris at Sterling House and Haven Hospice, as well as her dear long-time neighbors Fred and Luana Hanson of Lafayette. Family was Doris' true passion; that legacy will continue as her family honors her loving memory. A memorial service to celebrate Doris' life will be conducted at 12noon on , 17, 2015 in the chapel of Arch L.
