Obituary: Jean Gates Sprague, 90, passed away 17, 2016, in WPB at Good Samaritan Hospital, while in the care of Hospice. Jean was born 13, 1926, in WPB at Good Samaritan Hospital, the oldest child of the late Charles Frederick and Carolyn Gates. Jean and her siblings were all born and raised in WPB. She was a 1944 graduate of Palm Beach High School. She was a lifelong member of the Union Congregational Church of WPB. She was passionate about bowling, bingo and cards. She loved playing the piano. She worked for different credit unions and ended her working career retiring from the county. She is survived by her six children: Phillip Clark (Sherry) Sprague of Denver, CO; Shelley (Edwin) Curtis of PBG; Ted (Sharon) Sprague of Sevierville, TN; H. Reed (Rhonda) Sprague Jr. of Ellijay, GA; David (Beth) Sprague Sr. of PBG; and Jeanne Ann Hoover of Haverhill, 16 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 7 step-great-grandchildren, brother Charles Gates , sister Helen Irene King, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She is also survived by her special aide/helper/companion, Marie Holgate, who our whole family owes a debt of gratitude for her loving care.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Herbert Reed Sprague Sr.; 2 sisters - Carolyn Stillman and Ruth Compton; granddaughter Michelle Sprague and grandson Chad Sprague.The family will receive visitors on , 21, 2016, between the hours of 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., at Quattlebaum , 6411 Parker Ave., WPB 33405. Obituary: Jack Sprague, 92, passed away peacefully on 30, 2016, in Tarpon Springs, Florida, after a full and rewarding life time marked by his dedication to his family, country and career with Eaton Corporation. Born in Lansing, Michigan, Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Laura and Roland Sprague, and his beloved wife of 48 years, Norma Leigh (Chambers). He is survived by children John (Susan) and Catherine Clark (Mark), devoted wife of 21 years, Vera Halveston, grandchildren Chris, Matt, Anne, Bob, Jack, and their spouses, and 12 great grandchildren. serving his country in the Air Force during World War II, Jack married Norma the day after he turned 21. He earned his degree in engineering from Michigan State University and began his career with Eaton in 1948. His international service with Eaton began in 1959 with a transfer to Brazil and Argentina and continued with his return to the company’s Cleveland headquarters in 1966 where he worked with Eaton’s operations in Europe, Australia, and South America. In 1970 he became President of the company’s TimberJack Division in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada. retiring in 1989, Jack and Norma returned to Michigan and vacationed at Innisbrook, where they enjoyed many years filled with golf, friendship, and happy visits from their children and grandchildren. His life long interest in art led to his involvement in the Miniature Art Society of Florida, which he served as President. Also during this time, he served on Innisbrook’s board and began a consulting company to help small business owners. Jack and Norma moved to Florida in 1992 and settled in Tarpon Springs at Cypress Run, where. he also served on the board. Norma’s passing in 1993, Jack had the good fortune to meet Vera. spent 21 happy years together enjoying each others’s family and friends. took many great trips, celebrated many beautiful sunsets at Bon Appetit, and attended many wonderful concerts at Ruth Eckhart Hall. Dad will be remembered as an ethical, moral and fair man, who had a great sense of humor and a deep caring for everyone who was lucky enough to have met him. He did not lecture but taught by the example of how he lived his life. He did everything the right way and always anticipated the next step he would take in life, lessons his family will always cherish. Dad loved a good joke, good food, good wine, good golf, duck hunting, playing the organ, his computer and MSU football. He loved the time he spent with his father, his brother Dick, his cousin Bob, Norma and Vera, and his children and grandchildren. He took great pride in knowing that he was a great grandfather to his 12 great grandchildren. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ruth Eckhart Hall or the Miniature Art Society of Florida. A memorial reception will be held 22,2016 at Regency Oaks, beginning at 1pm. |

Obituary: Francine fought Lung & Brain Cancer for 18 months and finally lost the battle on 14th 2014 at Treasure Coast Hospice. She was 69 years young and resided at 840 SW Salerno Rd Stuart, Fl. She was born in New York City to Anthony and Teresa Monfre in the year of our lord May 2, 1945. Francine was pre-deceased by her mother, father and brother Philip and her cherished dog Suki. She is survived by her loving husband John, children, Jason, Anthony and Brian, wives Gia and Aimee, grandchildren Jax, Piper, Teddy and Shiloh and brother Richard, wife Diane and in addition many other family relatives including aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. She moved to West Palm Beach in 1976 and met her husband John in 1980 on a sailboat at a party anchored off Mangrove Island in the Bahamas. Subsequently Francine became the owner/office Manager for Old Slip Marina and Boatyard in Riviera Beach until sold in 1999 when she retired. moving to Stuart from Palm Beach Gardens she became involved with the St Lucie Settlement owners Association and was still on the board until her illness. She enjoyed music, the arts, cooking and an occasional game of golf. Forever passionate about the importance of family and friends; she will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Memorial services will be held this 20th 2014 at Aycock 505 S Federal Highway Stuart 34994. Viewing hours are from 2PM to 4PM and 6 PM to 8 PM with a service at 7PM. She will be laid to rest in the Sprague family plot in Woodlawn in Bronx, NY. The family requests any donations be given to the Moffitt Cancer Research Hospital, Tampa Fl., or the Treasure Coast Hospice. |
