Obituary: Mr. Wayne Albert Sparling, age 86, of Fort Myers, and formerly of Fort Lauderdale, passed away on , 13, 2017 at Hope Hospice at Shell Point Retirement Community. At the time of his passing he was in the hearts and minds of those he loved the most. Born in Yulee, Florida (near Jacksonville, Florida) on 13, 1931, Wayne was the son of the late Marie (Roberts) Sparling and was the second of 4 siblings. Waynes early years were spent in the Melbourne area and then later he relocated to Fort Lauderdale where he was a graduate of Fort Lauderdale High School. He was united in marriage with Lorene Fuchs in 1951 in the Fort Lauderdale First Church of the Nazarene, a union of 61 years until Lorenes passing in 2012. sometime Wayne met, fell in love and was married to Ruth Anderson. Until Waynes passing, he and Ruth have been constant companions, enjoying jazz cruises and other travel during their time together. From 1953-1954, Wayne served his country during the Korean Conflict as a welder and Soldier with the 101st Army. Soon after his return from Korea, Wayne started his family and business. Wayne began a 20 plus year hobby of Ferrari Race participation as a mechanic, pit crew member and even did some racing himself. He continued collecting and restoring and participating in all things Ferrari for many years. Wayne is survived by his wife Ruth; his sons and daughters-in-laws, Steve and Donna Sparling and Ron and Alice Sparling. Wayne held close to his heart the memory of his daughter, Nancy who passed away in 1984. ; his grandchildren, Matthew Sparling and Daniela Recabarren, Brian and Jamie Sparling, Ashley and Will Makowski, Kimberly Sparling and Brett Lazarus; his great granddaughter, Abigail; his sisters, Helen Alderman and Joan Reitz. He was predeceased by his sister Jean Hahn. Visitation will be held on , 21, 2017 from 6:00 - 7:30 at the Kraeer-Fairchild and Cremation , 4061 North Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale. Waynes funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence immediately upon the conclusion of visitation. Burial will take place in Lauderdale Memorial Park. |

Obituary: Moselle E. Gumbs Sparks-Peace Moselle was born in Philadelphia, Pa. to Selvin F. Gumbs and Dicie Jane Gumbs on 9, 1936. For most of her childhood, Moselle lived in North Philadelphia where her parents owned and operated a pharmacy and luncheonette. She attended Philadelphia High School for Girls and Pierce Junior . She was a Medical Transcriber and Instructor for most of her career. She continued this specialty after moving to Florida to be close to her daughters Tahsha and Pamela and granddaughter Kalah. Once retired, Moselle enjoyed her hobbies restoring and collecting Dolls and Giraffes. Moselle was always a special "Telephone Pal" to friends and family, she will be greatly missed by all. Moselle went home to be with the Lord suddenly on 24, 2015. She is survived by her daughters Tahsha Franklin, Pamela Sparks and granddaughter Kalah Franklin, her sisters Lonnetta D. Ray (Edward Ray), Carolyn Russell (Gregory Russell), her Brother Selvin F. Gumbs (Eva Gumbs), her former husband and life long friend Richard D. Sparks and many other relatives. Moselle was predeceased by her son Richard D. Sparks Jr. (aka Ricky). |
