Obituary: Mary Snyder, 83, of Clearwater, died on , Nov. 9, 2009. She was born in Mt. Vernon, NY and moved to Clearwater in 1968. She was a member of St. Cecelias Catholic Church and was a classically trained pianist who studied music at the Juilliard School of Music and Dance in New York City. Mary shared her love of music by being a music teacher and organist at several churches in the Clearwater area. She was predeceased by her husband of 34 years, Mervin and her brother, Pat. Survivors include her son, Colin Snyder and wife, Tina of West Melbourne; a brother, Ralph Tremonte and wife, Ulla of Mt. Vernon, NY; and a sister, Louise Carideo of Clearwater; and her beloved pet, Sophie. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on from 2-5 pm. A funeral mass will be held at 10 am, at St. Cecelias Catholic Church, 820 Jasmine Way, Clearwater. Interment will follow at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park. Moss Feaster Belcher Road Chapel 562-2070 |

Obituary: Marion Virden Snyder (nee Schusterick) died 10, 2014, in Jensen Beach FL. 89 years, her heart simply and unexpectedly wore out. She lived a full and happy life and loved her family. No one ever saw Marion looking anything but perfectly put together, and her home was always just as neat and attractive, an inviting place that she loved to decorate. She was exceptionally kind and never said a bad word about anyone. Marion was born on Staten Island, NY, on 17, 1925. When she was 7 years old, her father died and her widowed mother moved Marion and her two brothers, John and Ormond, to California. During World War II she was a "Rosie the Riveter" and an electrical worker at an aircraft factory. She met Jack J. (Jake) Snyder, gunner's mate chief, U.S. Navy, at a dance in Santa Monica and married him on 22, 1946, in Yuma, AZ. As a Navy wife, she moved with him to Virginia, Germany, back to Virginia, then Maryland, and finally Florida. were a boating family, and they had many adventures on the Chesapeake Bay and the Severn River in Maryland. Marion loved movies and shopping, antiquing, jewelry, having her family over for dinner, and eating out at restaurants. For almost 30 years, she and Jake spent summers in Maine at their home on the water near Bar Harbor, where she enjoyed watching the seals basking on the rocks. Marion had one son, Stephen, who, along with his wife, Lynne, was devoted to her. She also had a granddaughter, Kathleen Snyder of Charleston, SC; a grandson, Stephen Jr. (Joey) who died in 2001; and a great-grandson, Ethan Snyder of Pittsburgh, PA. The whole family will miss her terribly, but after 68 years of marriage, Jake is the one really lost without her. Marion will be cremated. Visitation will be 6-7 pm on , 19, 2014, followed by a memorial service at 7 pm, at Aycock , 950 NE Jensen Beach Blvd, Jensen Beach, FL.
