Obituary: Daniel Sinnott Sr. Age 77 Danny, Pop Pop Palm Beach Gardens, FL - Formerly of Wayside, NJ Daniel Sinnott Sr., age 77, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL passed away on 15, 2011 at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach, FL. At his passing, Dan was surrounded by his loving family. He was born at his familys home on Pennsylvania Ave. in Hillside, NJ on 11, 1934, the son of William and Bertha Sinnott. Dan was a business pioneer, starting two high tech companies in Monmouth , NJ which influenced and employed thousands of people throughout the country. In 1966, with co-founder Jim Bruno, Dan started Interdata, Inc., based in Oceanport, NJ which designed and manufactured 16 and 32-bit minicomputers. In 1980, Dan and Jim co-founded Syntrex, Inc. which was based in Eatontown, NJ and developed and manufactured office automation and word processing systems. Dan always had an open door policy and wanted to make sure that people were having fun while working hard. Dan was on the Board of Trustees for Monmouth University and several high tech companies. Dan was currently employed as Director of Finance for Sinnott Wolach Technology Group with his wife Margaret and partner Jeff Wolach. Dans loss will be felt by so many that enjoyed his company. Surviving Dan is his loving wife Margaret, with whom he moved to the PGA National community in Palm Beach Gardens, FL in 1993. He is also survived by his children with Nancy Sinnott, Daniel, Jr. , Jeffrey and wife Cristine, Diane Lomet and husband Victor, Paul and wife Donna, 9 grandchildren, brothers William and Frank and sister Johanna Mims, brother in law and good friend Terry, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Dan attended Hillside High School, Newark of Engineering, and also received a masters degree from Ohio State University. As a proud American, Dan served in the US Air Force. Dans many hobbies include boating and fishing out of Brielle, NJ, model railroading, watching Fox News and golfing. Dan was fortunate to be a member of Deal Golf Club in Deal, NJ and PGA National GC in Palm Beach Gardens, Fl. Traveling the world was a major part of Dans business and personal life. Dan attended church at Holy Spirit, Asbury Park, NJ, St. Anselms, Wayside, NJ and St. Patricks of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. A memorial service celebrating Dans life will be held at St Patricks Catholic Church in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, on 28th at 11:00 am. Roberta is survived by her life companion; Tim Covell, best friend; Kathy Harris; sister, Patricia Jean (Oncea) Prather; brother; Charles C. Oncea,III; Sister in Law, Susan P. Oncea; nieces, Kimberly Ann (Oncea) Priebe, Tammy (Caroll) Cassamassa, Tricia (Caroll) Elkinds, nephews; Charles C. Oncea IV, Joshua Shane (Oncea) Elder, Rick Prather, step-sisters; Roberta Dale (Riggs-Oncea) Rippatoe, Rebecca (Riggs-Oncea) Scott. Roberta was known to her Florida friends as Bobbie, and also know to her California family as Tug, (short for Tugger, as she couldn say Sugar, which is what her immediate family called her when she was a baby, and it stuck, for life). She was married to Timothy V. Sinkwich, in , 1966 and they resided in Baldwin Park, CA. She worked at her husbands family business, Viking Distributors, as a receptionist and bookkeeper until they divorced in 1972. She remained single throughout life, until her passing. Bobbie had no children, but had a wonderful love and affection for her nieces and nephews. She loved animals very much and while living in Southern California embraced life with her friendly beagle Renway (aka ReRe). Later in Brooksville she shared her home with her large and zany housemate hounds, Bear & Roxie, a chow mix. Her beside cat, Jack, was with her during some of her difficult moments. In her youth, Bobbie was very active and loved riding motorcycles in Southern California. From her Brooksville home, she enjoyed weekend ides with Tim and friends. In the early evenings friends could find her enjoying a time on her porch sharing the evening breeze and stories with friends and neighbors. In reflection, Bobbies friends often commented that she was a very giving and caring person and the 1st to volunteer to help out a friend in need, at times pushing herself beyond her physical limitations o do for others. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bobbies name to the local Chapter of the Humane Society and/or the ASPCA are encouraged. A memorial service and spreading of ashes will be scheduled at a date/time/location TBD. Rest in Peace Roberta Sue Sinkwich. |
