Obituary: It is with deep sadness to announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother Helen M. Maggie Sikes. Helen was preceded in life by her beloved husband Bruner Ray Bus Sikes in 1991. She is survived by her son Robert T. Sikes Sr. of Fort Walton Beach, her grandson Robert T. Sikes Jr. of Murfreesboro, TN and the entire Weiner family of Chicago Illinois. graduation from Mississippi State University Helen earned a commission into the United States Air Force. leaving the service she was many things for many people especially a best friend. Helen moved to the Poquito Bayou home in 197! with her family She became president of the Eglin AFB Officers Wives Club and was active in the Air Force Women Officers Association. In recent years Helen was an active and joyful member of the Fort Walton Beach Area Alumnae Panhellinic and was a cherished member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. Helen loved cooking, cats and college football and leaves behind many friends in the area and especially at St. Simons on-the-Sound Episcopal Church where she will be interned next to her husband in the columnbaria. Services will be held at St. Simons at 3 pm on 8. In lieu of flowers the family suggest a donation to the St. Simons--on-the-Sound Roof Fund. Obituary: Genevieve "Genny" Berlin Sikes was born on 15, 1932 in Memphis, Tennessee and passed 8, 2017. She was predeceased by the love of her life, John E. Sikes, Jr. A life long resident of Jacksonville, she graduated from Landon High School in 1951, where she was a member of the ing Lionettes and a Band Majorette. She was active in many school activities, including school government. Genny also graduated from Jacksonville University cum laud in 1972. She taught History, Civics and Philosophy at the high school level for years. She married her high school sweetheart in 1951. As a couple, they valued their children and family above all else in this world. Genny was interested in politics and actively participated in the Republican Womens Club in Duval , where she held numerous officer positions and later became President of the club for several terms. She was very involved in the Florida Federation of Republican Women, where she became Membership Chairman and Resolutions Chairman for the State Republican Party. She considered her marriage and children her greatest accomplishments in life. She hoped that her life as a mother and a teacher of young people had instilled good values and moral ethics. She is survived by her children, Sherry Lyford (Mitch), John E. Sikes, III (Kristi), Charlene True (Keith), Laurie Mullarkey (Patrick). She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Michelle Binkowski (Matthew), Chad Mullarkey (Halie), Justin True (Leah), Kelly Mullarkey, Dusty Sikes, and Garret True. In addition, she is survived by four great grandchildren, Sam and Genevieve Binkowski, MaryChase Mullarkey and Kinsley True. A memorial service will be held at Oaklawn at 4801 San Jose Boulevard on , 11th at 4pm. In Lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to Community Hospice of Jacksonville. Obituary: CHAMPION DEWEY SIKES, JR., 90, of Jacksonville, Fl died 13, 2016. Dewey was born 19, 1925 and graduated Andrew Jackson High School. He proudly served in the Army Air Corps as a Navigator on a B-17 Bomber during WWII. He then spent 60 years in the wholesale hardware business with the S.B. Hubbard Co. and Florida Hardware, among others. At one time he was the oldest wholesale hardware salesman in the state of Florida. He was a loyal member of First United Methodist Church and served as Head Usher for 10 years. He was Cub Scout Master for each of his 3 sons. Dewey is survived by his wife of 73 years, Naomi; sons Ted and Tom(Denise), daughter Peggy Sikes Byers; 6 grandchildren, Patrick Jones, Marcie Davis (Clay), Savannah Sikes, Sierra Sikes, Phoebe Sikes, and J.J. Snow; and beloved sister-in-law Shirley Sapp; preceded in death by daughter Paula Sikes Jones (Ron) and son Terry Sikes (Bonita). Visitation will be held evening 17th, 6:00-8:00 at Hardage-Giddens at Greenlawn, 4300 Beach Blvd., 32207. services will be held , 18th at 1:00pm., First United Methodist Church, 225 E.
