Obituary: JOHN SENAPPE - John Senappe, 83, of Orange Park, Florida, passed away peacefully on 20, 2014. Born in Hartford, Conn., he spent his early years in the small farming community of Rocky Hill, Conn. He enjoyed the country life and for a time thought he would become a farmer. That quickly changed when the family moved to Providence, R.I., a big city compared to Rocky Hill. He graduated high school but had no interest in going to college. It was about this time that he met and fell in love with Carol Bardell, who would later become his wife. The Korean War had started and in 1951 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Later that year he married Carol and began an eternal partnership. During a most rewarding naval career, he served in all enlisted pay grades and was later commissioned a mustang Ensign under the LDO program. He served on numerous ships, squadrons and stations, advancing through the officer ranks to retire as a Commander upon completion of more than 30 years in the service of his country. He earned numerous awards and commendations for his exemplary service and achievements during his long and honorable service. He was extremely proud of his country, his family, and the Navy. He was preceded in death five weeks ago by the love of his life, his wife Carol, with whom he enjoyed 63 years. He is survived by his three children, Cynthia Lentz, Stephen Senappe, and Bonnie Johnson; two grandchildren, Crystal Shinosky and Daniel Lentz; and two great-grandchildren, Julia and Danny Lentz. Family will receive friends 5-7 PM on , 24, 2014 at HARDAGE-GIDDENS RIVERMEAD FUNERAL HOME, 127 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park. Mass will be held 9:30 AM, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5752 Blanding Blvd, Jacksonville, FL with Father Rafal Mazurowski officiating. Burial will follow in Jacksonville National at 1 PM. Obituary: CAROL SENAPPE - The Senappe family is greatly saddened by the loss of our beloved matriarch, Carol M. Senappe. Born in Providence, R.I., in , 1931, she passed away peacefully on 12, 2014 in Orange Park, Fla. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, John Senappe, her brothers, William R. Bardell of Deltona, Fla., and Robert A. Bardell of Griswold, Conn.; her children, Cynthia Lentz, Stephen Senappe, and Bonnie Johnson; grandchildren Crystal Shinosky and Daniel Lentz; and great grandchildren, Julia and Danny Lentz; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. She married her sweetheart, John, at Jacksonvilles Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in 1951, and began a loving family that spanned over 62 years, 30 of which she spent as a dedicated Navy wife. She was the love of Johns life, a treasured mother and true friend to many. An active volunteer, she spent many hours assisting in school libraries through the years, and devoted much time to her roles with the Officers Wives Club and Retired Officers Wives Club, serving as Sunshine Chairman for two decades. She was a lifelong Catholic and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The family will receive friends on , 17, 2014 from 5-7 PM at Hardage-Giddens Rivermead chapel. service will take place on , 18, 2014 at 10 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5752 Blanding Blvd., Jacksonville, Fl 32244 with Father Rafal Mazurowski Celebrant.
