Obituary: William Roy Schlabach, 74 of Titusville, Florida passed away , 25, 2015 in Titusville, Florida. He was a truck driver and a LPN. He enjoyed the outdoors fishing, boating, scuba diving and later in life spending time on his computer. He was born in Sugarcreek, Ohio to the late Clarence and Clara Schlabach. He was also preceded in death by a brother Perry Schlabach (Gaynelle) of Ohio. Survivors include his children, David Schlabach (Jean) of Florida, Todd Schlabach (Amy) of Ohio and Darrell Schlabach of Ohio; Five Grandsons, Jesse, Shawn, Bryan, Michael and Kevin Schlabach; one great-granddaughter, Chloe Schlabach; siblings, Beulah Boyer (Ron) of Ohio, Esther Beechy (Bob) of Ohio, Irvin Schlabach (Sandi) of Oregon , Dennis Schlabach (Sandy) of Oregon, Wendie (Kim) Saltarski of Toronto, Randy (Beth) Siford of Florida, and many nieces and nephews. Obituary: Christena Fern Schlabach, 75, born Oct. 19, 1939, to Albert and Katie (Yoder) Schlabach in Johnson , Iowa. She died Aug. 17, 2015 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Christina was the second-born of twelve children. She is survived by eleveln siblings, Martha (Perry) Bontrager, Dean (Tina) Schlabach, Alice Schlabach, Sadie (Ivan) Schmucker, Lorine (Cletus) Lambright, Mary Yoder, Allen (Kathy) Schlabach, Doris Schlabach, Jonas (Debbie) Schlabach, Earl (Dixie) Schlabach, Grace (David) Schumann, numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Chris is remembered by her hospitality. She loved being a hostess, cooking and entertaining. Flowers and decorating were some of her gifts. Her nieces and nephews and great-nieces/nephews remember her by yearly birthday cards she sent them. Chris enjoyed being employed by the Drs. Michael and Wendy Katz. Their sons Jeremy and Jason held a special place in her heart. Chris loved her Lord and was a member of Shining Light Church. Obituary: Alva Joseph Schlabach was born on 7, 1921 to Elias and Minnie Lantz Schrock Schlabach in Thomas, Oklahoma. On 31, 1948 he married is wife of 67 years, Doris Mary Crossgrove. She passed away this past summer. Alva, also known as Curly, raised their three children, Linda (Dana) Schlabach Miller; Jay (Tina) Schlabach; and Sandy (Randy) Stuckey in Wauseon, Ohio. He was preceded in death by 5 siblings, Sylvia, Clara, Shem, Clayton, and Dorothy. David Schlabach of Sarasota, Florida and Mildred Miller in Indiana survive. He has seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family moved from Oklahoma to Delaware in 1935, and then to Meadville, Pennsylvania. Alva entered Civilian Public Service in 1942. CPS he moved to Wauseon for a job where he met Doris. In 1955 Alva founded ALDO Soil Service, an agricultural chemical business which served Northwest Ohio. The business grew and in 1966 was picked up by Custom Farm Service where he continued as a district manager and eventually operating services coordinator until 1973. Custom Farm Service, he became a licensed real estate broker and assisted Speiss/Zeller Realtors in developing a housing subdivision. These three gentlemen named the three streets in the subdivision after their three wives so there is a Doris Street in Wauseon, Ohio. In 1986 he retired and he and Doris moved to Sarasota to care for his parents. Their remaining years were spent in Sarasota. Alva loved camping and traveling the west and especially the Rocky Mountains. He loved nature, hiking, and sleeping in his tent, and in later years, his motor home. He was a devoted and loyal son, husband and father. His strong Christian faith was evident in his relationships with family and friends and way he lived his life. |
