Obituary: Helen Savas, 87, of Hernando, Florida passed from this earth to our Lords embrace on 26, 2012, under the loving care of her family and the wonderful nurses of Hospice of Citrus . The service of remembrance will be held on Sat., Jan. 28, 2012 at 1:30 at Fero located at 5955 N. Lecanto Highway, Beverly Hills, Florida 34465. Helen was born in Astoria, Long Island, New York and was employed with the Dannon in New York as their communication chief. Upon her retirement, she and her husband Bill, moved to Florida to enjoy this beautiful state. Although late in life, she pursued her artistic talents in painting, music and writing. She became quite proficient in painting as evidenced by the many accolades for her paintings and sold some thru art comsignments. She also, compiled the first-ever history of the Citrus Hills Art Council. She is survived by her husband Bill, her daughter, Electra Paskett and son-in-law, Howard Paskett as well as grandsons, James, William and Jonathan Paskett of Dublin, Ohio, her son Peter Savas of Salt Lake City, UT and her brother, Harry Chalderis of Deer Park, NY. Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of (them), the things which God hath prepared for them that love him." (1Corinthians 2:9) Helen loved our God, as we all do, so there should be no tears, only loving memories of her. Obituary: EFSTARIOUS (BILL) W. SAVAS \ 89 Bill Savas, age 89, of Hernando, FL, passed from this earth to our Lords embrace on 26, 2013, one year to the day after the death of his best friend and lovely wife, Helen. The service of remembrance will be held on 31, 2013 at 12:00 pm at the Fero Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel located at 5955 N. Lecanto Hwy., Beverly Hills, FL 34465. The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 11:00 am. Bill was born in Springfield Gardens, Queens, New York on 18, 1923 and served in the Navy for four years during WW II. leaving the Navy as a decorated hero, he joined the NYC Police Department, where he enjoyed a colorful career, rising from Patrolman to Detective, ultimately retiring from the Department as a decorated officer. Upon his retirement, Bill and Helen moved to Florida to enjoy this beautiful state. He loved to fish, travel, and recount his days in the police force. He is survived by his daughter, Electra Paskett and son-in-law, Howard Paskett as well as grandsons, James, William, and Jonathan Paskett of Dublin, OH; his son, Peter Savas of Salt Lake City, UT; and his brother Jerry Savas and his wife, Marion of Spring Hill FL. Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of [them], the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.\ (1 Corinthians 2:9) Bill loved our God, as we all do, so there should be no tears, only loving memories of him. Obituary: George E. Savaria Jr., 84, passed away 14, 2011 at Community Hospice of North Florida. He was born 21, 1926 in New Bedford, MA and was predeceased by his parents, George and Eva (Sicard) Savaria. He graduated from Ridgewood High School in 1944 and joined the U.S. Navy. He served as a Quartermaster in the Navy during World War II. He earned a bachelors degree in Business Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University. George accepted a position with the Allied Chemical in New York where he eventually became the Director of Personnel. One of his greatest personnel achievements was meeting Grace Redyke an occupational nurse for Allied. George and Grace were married on 21, 1953. 20 years with Allied, George accepted a position in Tampa, FL as the Director of Personnel for Jim Walter Corporation. In his retirement years George was active in the Knights of Columbus, rising to the rank of 4th Degree Knight. An Eagle Scout himself, he was involved in scouting for a number of years. He served as a Troopmaster in Ridgewood NJ and was a charter member of the Order of the Arrow. Most recently, he was an Eagle Scout advisor for Boy Scouts in the Jacksonville area. He and Grace were active in their congregations throughout their marriage, most recently in St. Margaret Catholic Church in Maggie Valley, NC and San Juan Del Rio Catholic Church in St Johns, FL. also were active members of the Haywood Regional Medical Hospital Auxiliary in NC. George is survived by his wife, Grace Savaria; sister, Claire (Dick) DeRocker of Hayesville NC; sons, George Savaria III of Bostwick FL, Arthur (Marsha) Savaria of St Johns FL, and daughter, Jeanne (Mike) Kuperberg of Bethesda MD; granddaughters: Shannon, Jessica, Jordan and Ansley; a great grandson: William; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be Celebrated at 10:30 AM on 19, 2011 in San Juan Del Rio Catholic Church, 1718 State Road 13 N, St. Johns, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations be made to Boy Scout Troop 278 and sent to San Juan Del Rio Catholic Church. |
