Obituary: Shirley Eileen Satterfield, age 92, of Fort Walton Beach, FL passed away , 17, 2014. She was born 27, 1922 in Gillette, Arkansas to Grover Cleveland Sweeny and Ebrena Jones Sweeny, she led a long and interesting life. She lived on a farm, taught school, lived in a log camp, ran a motel, and raised a family. She married Fred Berryman in 1942 and had two sons, Jan and James. She and Fred moved to Fort Walton in 1950 where she and Fred owned and ran a motel on Brooks Street for many years. Fred passed away in 1987. She married Charles Satterfield in 1993. She was much loved and admired and will be missed by all she left behind. Her experience, love, compassion and guidance shaped our lives. We love you MOM. She is preceded in death by her parents and husbands, Fred Berryman and Charles Satterfield. She is survived by two sons, Jan Berryman and wife Donna, and James Berryman; three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and four step children; Arnie, Anita, Ruth and Richard Satterfield. Obituary: Clara Frances Satterfield, age 70, went home to be with the Lord from her home in Orlando, Florida on , 18, 2013. At this time, the cause is unknown. Born in Sevierville, Tennessee to Lena Elizabeth Dyer, she grew up in east Tennessee attending school in Sevier at the same school Dolly Parton attended, something of which she was very proud. She loved the Smoky Mountains and was proud of her Tennessee heritage. driving a school bus for many years, she retired from Orange Public Schools Transportation in 1999. The stories she told of the many antics of her students would keep her family and friends constantly entertained. often said that the students who rode her bus were the luckiest students in the county. She received numerous commendations for her outstanding commitment to her students and community. She never met a stranger. It was not uncommon to see her sitting with a homeless person in Eola Park or in a fast food restaurant after buying them food, and sharing with them the Bread of Life (Jesus Christ). She was selfless in her passion for people, reaching out to the homeless, the helpless, the hurting, and sharing with them how they could know Jesus as their Savior. She had the opportunity to lead many people to the Lord, including a number of her family members. She enjoyed crafts of many kinds, decorating her home and helping others decorate theirs. She had the amazing ability to turn any boring house into a beautiful, welcoming and comfortable home. She was very involved with her childrens and grandchildrens school and extracurricular activities. She served on the PTA when her children were younger, helped with transportation to and from practices and competitions for baseball, softball, swimming, band, martial arts, cheerleading, after school clubs and more, oftentimes packing her car with other kids needing rides as well (this was practice for when she would start driving a school bus-she just didn know it?). She admitted that the greatest accomplishments of her life were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was known as Momma, Granny and Grandma and was dearly loved and will be sorely missed. To her sisters, brothers and in-laws, she was Clara Frances. To her many beloved nieces and nephews, she was Aunt Fran or Aunt Clara. Fran is survived by her children, Ginger Scally, Sonya Riley, and David Satterfield; her daughter-in-love, Cheryl Satterfield and son-in-love, Jim Berish and his son J.J.; her grandchildren, Joshua Scally and his wife Jennifer Scally, Rachel Scally Alexander and her husband Joseph Alexander, Stephen Samuel Scally and his fiancée Kammy Wright, Ethan Riley, Andrea Riley, Jennifer Riley Powell and her husband Troy, Kate Satterfield, and Mary Lynn Satterfield; her great grandchildren, Annabelle Scally, Jacob Scally, Caleb Scally, Audrey Scally and Lillian Scally; her sister, Shirley Higginson, her brothers-in-law, James Hale, Sr. and Edward ( ) Hale; her sister-in-law, Evelyn Dyer and very many dearly beloved nieces, nephews and friends. She is predeceased by her mother, Lena Dyer; her brothers, J.D. Obituary: Charles Chuck Satterfield, 80 of Ocoee, Florida passed away on 4, 2012. He was born in South Knoxville, Tennessee on 15, 1932 to James Alexander and Charlotte Elizabeth (Courtney) Satterfield. Chuck was a skilled carpenter and he enjoyed woodworking and spending time in his yard. He was a member of Oak Level Baptist Church in Ocoee. The joy of Chucks life was his family and he is survived by his children: Ginger Scally, Sonya Riley, David Satterfield, Robbie Satterfield and Bruce Satterfield; his sister, Lydia Hatcher; his sweetheart, Eloise "Juanita" Hart and by several grandchildren and many other family and friends who will miss him dearly. Services will be held on , 8, 2012 at 10 AM at the First Baptist Church of Winter Garden, 125 E. Plant Street. Interment will be private, at the request of the family. |
