Obituary: Fernanda Safarik was born in Bucharest, Romania on 20, 1923. As a teenager during WWII, Fernanda was part of one of several operations which supplied downed allied flyers with false documents and smuggled them into Spain and on to their own forces. Years later, when an astonished listener asked what here parents had thought about her activities Fernanda replied, Oh, they didn know anything about it! In 1943 Frenanda married Raymond Presente. Raymond and Fernanda had two daughters together, Marnina and Verena. moved to Uruguay in 1948. Fernanda began working for IBM in Uruguay and then became a manager with the newly established Uruguayan Management Association. In 1972 the family moved to Argentina and then on to Brazil the following year. With the death of Raymond in 1974 Fernanda found herself a widow. In 1980 Fernanda married a wonderful man from New York, Henry W. Safarik who had two daughters, Leslie and Hillary. Fernanda and Henry lived in the Philippines from 1983 to 1986. When they returned to the U.S. they settled first in Vero Beach and then in Melbourne in 1989. Henry passed away in 1997. When the Safariks arrived in Melbourne an idea for a library was born during a book discussion meeting at their home. Fernanda was very involved with a key group of volunteers who formed a, Friends of the Library group before there even was a library. Fernanda was one of the original volunteers when the Suntree/Viera Library opened in 1997 and, in addition to her work with the Friends, served on the Suntree/Viera Library Advisory Board and the Brevard Libraries Advisory Board. Fernanda is survived by her daughters Verena Presente, Marnina Presente, Leslie Safarik, Hillary Safarik and by her brother Enrique Coman and his son Carlos. She is deeply missed by her friend Mary Scholtz. are all consoled knowing that she has been reunited with her beloved Henry. In lieu of flowers the family requested that any donation should be given to the Suntree/Viera Library, a place dear to the hearts of both Henry and Fernanda. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2-4pm on , May 23, 2015 in the Fellowship Hall at Prince of Peace Church, 6895 Murrell Road, Mwelbourne, FL 32940 |

Obituary: Luis A. Saez, Sr., 77, of Stuart, passed away peacefully, , May 17, 2015 at the Treasure Coast Hospice residence in Ft. Pierce. Luis was born in Cayey, Puerto Rico. He had been a resident of Martin for the past 61 years coming from Puerto Rico. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rosetta Pittman Survivors include his three daughters, Rosetta Saez and her husband Anthony Wilson, Maria Saez, Lisa Saez and her husband Johnny Wilson; three sons, Luis A.
