Obituary: Herman C. Saenger, 89, of Homosassa FL, passed away on , 2, 2017 at Seven Rivers Regional Medical , Crystal River, FL. A native of Flushing, NY, he was born Sept. 24, 1927 to Wilhelm and Lisle Saenger. Herman served his country honorably and proudly during WWII in the United States Navy and was a retired design engineer for the New York and New Jersey Port Authority. He moved to Homosassa 30 years ago from Elmont, L.I., NY and was a former faithful and devoted volunteer with the Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park. Mr. Saenger was also a gifted artist who loved woodworking and painting. He is survived by his beloved wife of 12 years, Irene Saenger of Homosassa, FL; his daughters Linda Murphy, Groton, NY and Susan DAngelo, Homosassa, FL; brother William Saenger, California; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Edward W. Alexander (wife Katherine), Homosassa, FL; grandchildren Rae, Nicki, Michael, Rhiannon and Melissa and great grandchildren Natalie, Haylee, Evan, Boone, Ellie, Vivienne and Alex.
