Obituary: John was born on a farm in Sioux , Orange City, Iowa on 11, 1921 to Richard (Dick) Reinsma and Gertrude (Korver) Reinsma. He graduated from Orange City Christian School and Northwestern Academy in 1938. He was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church and became church organist at age 15. This position he held for approximately 4 years. In 1941, he moved to Des Moines, Iowa for training and research with the Naval Signal Corp. completion of the training, he interviewed for a position with the Naval Research Laboratory and moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1943. He received a BS degree from Temple University and continued working for the laboratory until the end of WWII. He was assigned several tours of duty to Hawaii and Vietnam to instruct Naval personnel in the use of radar. the war, he accepted a position with Sperry Gyroscope, INC. on Long Island, New York as Senior Project Engineer. He married Reona Reinsma of Sioux Falls, South Dakota on 22, 1946 at which time the couple moved to West Sayville, N.Y. became members of the Christian Reformed Church where John served several years as elder in the church. He was also a member of the board of the Christian School and president of Sayville Public School Board. John was organist and choir director for the Bay Port, New York Methodist Church until he retired from Sperry and the couple moved to Colorado to be near their three sons. Thereafter he became Music Director for St. Timothy Episcopal Church in Denver, which position he held until he retired in 2004. John was the youngest of nine children all of whom have preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 64 years and his sons Gerald, wife Carol, Jeffrey, wife Rilla and Jay and four grandchildren John , Kathryn, Jim and Jack. A memorial service is planned for , 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m., Cragmor Christian Reformed Church, 1225 Acacia Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the John and Reona Reinsma Organ Fund. |

Obituary: Kenneth Gerald Reinke 1922-2015 Kenneth was born in South Western Minnesota and grew up in the very small town of Burchard. He lived there with his parents and one sister and went to Grammar School in a one-room schoolhouse. Kenny attended high school in the nearby town of Balaton and graduated in 1940 with a class of about 25 persons. He then moved to San Diego and worked for a company that produced goods for the military in WWII. It was there where he met Mary Marie Marquand whom he married in 1942. Soon after his marriage, Kenny joined the Navy and served in Hawaii up until his discharge in 1944. He then moved with his wife to his wifes hometown of Colorado Springs. In 1954, he cofounded Nob Hill Body Shop. Kenneth took over as sole proprietor and ran the business until 1979. In 1960, he cofounded Nee Noshee Ranches where he served as president. Kenneth was an avid fisherman, hunter, and loved the outdoors. Together with his wife, Marie, he crisscrossed Colorado and traveled to many neighboring states. He enjoyed 35 years of happy retirement and spent his time fishing, boating, camping and with the family. Kenneth is survived by two sons: Roger and Kerry, three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Kenneth is truly the personification of the Great Generation. He will be missed by his friends and family. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on , 23, 2015 at Memorial Gardens . Private inurnment will be held at a later date at Memorial Gardens . |
