Obituary: When you were born I though it was great to have a baby sister smaller than I was. When we got older, playing games (croquet was our speciality), climbing trees, jumping form the hay mow onto a pile of ahy (this was especially fun when there was a pig sleeping under the pile of hay). When getting the wood in the wagon, you were supposed to push, not ride on it! I love you dear. Remember when we found the robin and the bluebirds nests in the orchards? What fun it was to get up to the nests to see the color of the eggs and how many there were. Remember the times when a grain scale was what we used to weigh things, and the older kids were weighing you? Two different times the large scale fell and hit you in the head. You still have the scars. It hurt me as bad as it did you dear. Remember going to school? Up and down the hills, across the ditches, through the tall grass, and can forget the winter time. Walking in ten below weather, we appreciate those hils on days like that. Gosh, it seemed colder than cold could be. What about that craxy horse we used tor ide to scholl. He refused to cross that bridge, unless we got off and led him across. We coudln wait for the warmer weather to come, so we could go barefoot. We stepped on a few nails doing that. OUCH! Mother would bind fat meat and turpentine on our wounds. no tetanus shots back then. At dish washing time, I would always give you the choice of washing or drying. Usually I proceeded to wash while you goofed around. When I asked you to get busy and dry, you would say "Ill wash them". When I woudln move from the washing pan, you sharpened your nails on my arms. When I protected myself, you screamed "Mother shes killing me", and I would be the one that got the scolding. That was not so bad, until a day later when the scars on my arms were scabbing over, and my sweet littel sister would wait for a chance to scratch off the scabs. Remember riding the cultivator for Mike and Frank? Driving those horses and having the corn stalks hitting us in the face. We sat on sheep skin, thrown over a 4x4 tongue. Dad always said we had to get the corn laid before the 4th of , so we could go to the celebration. Those fun games of croquet we had. You used to get mad when i won, and chase me with the croquet mallet. I had to run for my life. I guess I liked to tease you. We used to have fun making stick houses. I would put a bathroom in my houses and you used to get mad at me.I guess you like the old privy better. What about the rain barrel with the tadploles in it? How did they get there anyway? The years went by and we raised our families, then began our travels. Bill and I would say something about a trip and your response was "When do we leave?". What a delight! We alwyas enjoy your company so much. Our first trip to Hawaii was outstanding. that, we wouldn think of going anywhere without you. Ahhh! You can forget the great cruises. Visiting seven capitals of the world. The time I found eight dollars that someone forgot to collect from the slot machine. You and Bill insisted I play that eight dollas. I was down to the last dollar, and turned to you and said "See it;s all gone!", while you screamed "You won!". Sure enough, out poured $100. Needless to say, what a shock! I went right to the boutique on board the ship and bought presents for the family. The trip to Florida, when we assured you they did not have thunder and lightning there. Lo and behold int he middle of the night, there was a loudclap of thunder. You sat straight up in bed and said, "What was that?". You said "I can take earthquakes, but not all that!". Bill laid there asleep throug it all. He wasn bothered by the thunder. God made a liar out of me that time. On our trip to Israel, we took a video camera. It was a great trip. We took many pictures to show the family at home. Guess what? When we got homewe had several shots of peoples feet, legs, and the ground. Occasionally we got a whole person on the film, but of course we didn know who they were anyway. Honey, God knows you tried hard and you couldn help it if someone gave you the wring operating instructions for the camera. It was a super trip anyway. It really brought things from the bible to life. Then there was Prince Rainiers Castle in Monaco. You were supposed to be helping me because my heart had been acting up, and what did you do but fall off the step. Good thing I was hanging on to you, or you would have fallen on your face. Too bad I didn save your ankle too. You were a trooper though. You hobbled around for the rest of our vacation. You looked great at the captains table that evening for dinner. You even got your shoe on. Greater love hath no sister, than when you left California and the 70 degree weather, to come to Chicago where teh temperature was five below zero, to help us drive to Florida. You can have too many faults. Thanks for the memories. We love you dearly. Where are we going on our next trip??? |

Obituary: Andrew Thaddeus Robinson was born 30, 1989 in West Hills, CA to Marianne Rosolanka-Robinson and Jimmie Robinson. Tad got his nickname when his dad saw him on an ultrasound when his mom was about two months pregnant and thought he looked like a tadpole. He was called Tad the entire time that his mom was pregnant. He was born with a left side cleft lip and palate and multiple VSDs in his heart. By 7 months old, Tad has his first of many open heart, open chest and craniofacial surgeries. Surprisingly, even way back then, Tad always had a smile on his face and was a naturally happy person. He made friends easily. With his gorgeous "rainbow" hazel eyes and the longest eyelashes in town, Tad has a sparkle in his eye that helped him continue to make a lot of friends. When he was about 18 months old and once again in the hospital for a long period of time at Christmas time, Tad, wearing a Santa hat, would walk with his IV pole, and visit the people in the Cardiac Intensive unit. Many of those patients had only days to live and looked forward to Tad coming to their door, waving at them and saying Merry Christmas. Tad said that one of his favorite things about himself was how tall he was. He was always extremely tall and thin. When fully grown, Tad was almost 6 4" tall and enjoyed being able to look over most folks heads. During his childhood, he participated in a lot of activities including cub scouts, boy scouts, sports (baseball, basketball, football, soccer), played guitar, was an Altar boy, learned Greek at school and his first job was as an umpire when he was 12 years old. Tad was also in two musicals at Golden Performing Arts when he was a teenager. Although singing and dancing were not his greatest talents, he loved the theatre and made a lot of friends. He was also a member of Young Black Scholars, which is an organization for academically gifted African American youth to help them to go to college. Tad did enjoy being a multi racial person. Tad loved to eat; he was the "human garbage disposal" of the family. He especially loved Slovak specialties including poppy seed rolls, stuffed peppers and perogies. He also loved hot sauce on almost everything, apparently due to his Creole background. Tads favorite professional football team was the Minnesota Vikings. It was a shame that when his team was doing so well in 2009, he was in a coma and could not enjoy their success. Tad loved comics. He had a very eclectic sense of comedy. He loved Weird Al Yankovic, Lewis Black and George Carlin as well as many others. Of course, he and his friends loved to play video games together. He was a good friend and always had something nice to say about everyone. Sometimes his jokes were a bit bizarre, but he sure loved to tell them to get a laugh out of you. One of Tads favorite holidays was Halloween. He loved to decorate the front of the house and one year he made a dance floor in the front yard to have a party with his friends there. Tad started his education at Boulevard School and then went to St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox school in Northridge. completing 6th grade, he transferred to Hale Middle School where he loved working in the horticulture unit. He ended his high school career at El Camino High School in Woodland Hills, CA, where he participated in Navy ROTC and was an armed drill team captain. On a trip to Guam, he used his armed drill team skills to learn how to fire dance. Tad received an Army ROTC scholarship to the University of Idaho and prepared to be a Freshman in the Fall of 2007. While waiting for the Army to approve his medical status, he continued his education at Pierce studying Electronics and General Contracting. When the Army did not make their decision on his medical status, Tad began an electronic apprenticeship with his Dad, who is a general contractor. Tad loved working in the field and had a talent for fixing any damages, especially electric problems. Even as a small child, he enjoyed taking things apart to see how they worked. His favorite was to take apart wrist watches when he was little. Tad got up every morning looking forward to working with his Dad. He enjoyed getting his hands dirty and working with the other men on the job. He enjoyed listening to reggaetone music and began learning Spanish from his coworkers. He was in the middle of his electronic apprenticeship when his accident occurred on May 13, 2009 and his subsequent death on 8, 2010. Tads Mom says he was the best hugger ever and we will greatly miss his smiley face and funny sense of humor. |
