Obituary: Michael Reed 1947 - 2012 Michael Reed, 64, met his Savior face to face on 25th, 2012. He was surrounded by the ones he had loved so well: his children, grandchildren, and sweet wife. Peter M. "Michael" Reed was born on 3rd 1947 in Bryan/ Station, Texas to Peter N. Reed and Lady Reed (Beauchamp). Michael grew up in San Antonio and attended Texas A&M University, graduating in 1969 with a degree in History and Political Science. which he served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force from 1969 to 1972. Michael was a seeker of truth his whole life, possessing a gentle nature and great sense of humor; He was redeemed by Jesus in 1974 as He grew completely in love with this God who had saved him. This was the beauty Michael had always been looking for. Michael fell entirely in love with Merlyn "Meri" Wigington, of San Antonio, Texas, "the most beautiful woman on earth." Michael and Meri were married on 27th, 1976 in San Antonio, Texas. Michael loved his wife more every year of his life. moved to California where he attended Melody Land School of Theology. graduating, the family moved to Victoria, Texas where Michael was a pastor and school teacher at Koinonia, a small Christian church and school. Soon Michael was the proud daddy of four little girls; Mariah Elizabeth, Christianna Dawn, Michelle Renee, and Charity Anne. He adored them. adored him. He often said, "To be a father of girls is to be a king." And in the years to come he became the proud Papa of Peter David Michael, who also carries both Michael and his grandfathers names. When Michael felt the Lord was calling him to practice law, he attended the University of Texas School of Law while he and Meri raised their young children. He graduated in 1988. Michael took a position at McCreary Veselka, Bragg, and Allen Attorneys at Law, in Austin, Texas. For the next 24 years, he practiced law with this firm. He has personally appeared in proceedings in thirteen different states and before the US 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans. Michael and Meri were also leaders in the house church movement in Austin, Texas, and for over 15 years, they have led a Christian mother and daughter ministry called COMMIT. He was a papa to everyone who came into his home and to all of those girls. In 2008 Michael and Meri again moved to Redding California, overjoyed to see their entire family move near them. Michael filled his life and his house with the worship of God, and the people of God. He and Meri found such deep happiness in their last home together. He was the best friend of his grandson, Johann, age 6. Michael was profoundly kind and caring. He was a true southern gentleman, making everyone he met feel welcomed and loved. He became a friend and father in spirit to four young men who married his daughters and to one affianced daughter who will marry his son in the garden of a yard that Michael lovingly prepared for them, finishing the deck only hours before he went home. Michael never stopped pursuing the hearts of his wife and children, ending his days surrounded by, quite possibly, the happiest family on earth. Michael was preceded in death by his father Peter N. Reed, his younger brother Christopher Reed, and his grandson Judah Thompson. Michael is survived by his mother Lady Reed of Boerne, Texas; his brother David Reed of San Antonio, Texas; his sister Melinda Cedillo of Boerne, Texas; his wife Meri Reed of Redding, California; daughter Mariah Wilde, her husband Chris, and their children of Gonzales, Texas; daughter Christianna Maas, her husband Daryl, and their children of Redding, California; daughter Michelle Thompson and her husband Ted of Redding, California; daughter Charity Osorio and her husband Geovany of Cuenca, Ecuador; son Peter David Michael Reed and his wife Hannah Hayes of Redding, California. A public memorial ceremony is being held in Round Rock, Texas, on 10, 2012 @ 3:30 P.M. at True Life Fellowship.
