Obituary: Rita Sharon Rainville, 79 years of age of Lakewood, California completed her life's transition into the hands of her Lord on 19th, 2014. Rita was the only daughter of Earl and Marguerite Eslick along with two brothers. Robert the eldest, preceded her in death and the younger, David, survived her. She was welcomed by her husband, Donald P. Rainville, whom she was married to for 49 years and her grandson Alexander P. Rainville. She was born 29th, 1935 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Rita attended many schools, in different states, before High School due to her family looking for work. She graduated from Wilson High School in Long Beach, California in 1953. Her career path changed as she progressed through life. It started as a cashier at Long Beach city 's bookstore, after her marriage she became a stay at home mom to raise her two sons, years later she returned back to work as a registrar for the Paramount Unified School District. In the early 80's she left the school district to pursue her life's ambition of becoming a published author which she accomplished in 1984 when she sold her first book (Challenge the Devil) to Silhouette Romance, twenty-five other books followed over the next thirteen years. Rita lived in Lakewood for most of her adult life except for the twenty years she and her husband spent in Prescott, Arizona. During the Prescott years she was very active with her church, of Spiritual Living. She held various positions which included music coordinator, participated in various committees, was the treasurer, and served multiple terms on their Board of Trustees. She moved back to Lakewood in of 2013. Rita is survived by her two sons, Paul and Steve; daughter in law Virginia; grandson Adam; brother David; sister in law Stella; nephews Jim, Jon, Tom; and a plethora of close friends. Rita loved social interaction, spending time with her family and large circle of friends kept her heart full of joy. She was also an avid reader, a family genealogy researcher, and loved to create her own hand made greeting cards. Services are scheduled at Luyben Family Dilday-Mottell Mortuary (5161 E. Arbor, Long Beach) on 24th, at 10:00am, to be followed by a reception at her home in Lakewood. |
