Obituary: Judy Rake, age 61, of the Town of Calamus, died , 11, 2007 at the Mayville and Rehabilitation . Friends and family may call at the Murray in Beaver Dam on , 15, 2007 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, where a prayer service will be conducted at 7:00 PM. On , 16, 2007, people may call at St. Katharine Drexel Church, 127 W. Maple Avenue, in Beaver Dam from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at church, beginning at 11:00 AM. Fr. John Schreiter will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Michael\s in the Town of Beaver Dam, Dodge , Wisconsin. The former Judy Ann Marion was born on 27, 1945 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin to the late Harold and Marie (Spannbauer) Marion. She was a graduate of Mayville High School, class of 1964. On 19, 1969, Judy was united in marriage with Jacob J. Rake in LeRoy, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on 26, 2003. Judy farmed throughout her entire life. She also worked as a nursing assistant at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac for about five years; a job she really enjoyed. A loving mother, Judy\s children were her life and she devoted much of her time to them. She was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Beaver Dam and she was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. Survivors include three children, Mary Rake (fiancAC., Greg Justman) of Calamus Township, Jacob Rake, II of Calamus Township, and Joe Rake of Westford Township, five brothers and sisters, Kathy (Bill) Emmer of Fond du Lac, Betty (Rick) Baker of Fond du Lac, Dick (Diane) Marion of Johnsburg, Sue (John) Brefka of Mayville and John (Pam) Marion of Fond du Lac, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Judy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. The family suggests that memorials be made in Judy A. Rake\s name to St. Katharine Drexel School. Obituary: Josephine Jo (Lehner) Rake, passed away at Hillside Manor on 28, 2010 at the age of 91. Visitation for Josephine will be at the Murray in Beaver Dam on , May 6, 2010 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a rosary service at 7:00 PM. On , May 7, 2010, there will be a visitation at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 511 S. Spring Street in Beaver Dam, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow, beginning at 11:00 AM. Fr. Tony Klink will celebrate the mass. Burial will be at St. Peter\s in the Town of Beaver Dam, Dodge , Wisconsin. She was born on 10, 1918 in Beaver Dam, the daughter of Oswald and Laura (Kress) Lehner. She was married to Gerald Rake on 4th, 1941 at St. Peter\s Catholic Church in Beaver Dam, WI. He preceded her in death on 30, 1984. The couple had 4 children, Geraldine (Paul) Shapiro of Newport Beach, California, Stephen of Black River Falls, James (Ann) of Beaver Dam, and Robert (Janet) of Waukesha. She had seven grandchildren, Dawn and Alana Shapiro (twins) of California, Andrea (Nate) Tinnen of Minnesota, Victoria Rake of Black River Falls, Molly Hinkes of Beaver Dam, and Melanie and Jeremy Rake of Waukesha. Josephine is also survived by one sister-in-law, Imogene McShane of Waukesha, and many favorite nieces and nephews. Jo was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jerry, in 1984; a special friend, Clifford Gutgesell in 2005; her daughter-in-law, Lois 2001; brothers, John Lehner and his wife Lilian, and Herbert Lehner and his wife Julianna; and brother-in-law Bernard McShane. Josephine was active in her teens in St. Mary\s Sodality, Leipsic 4-H Club and Dodge Boots and Saddle Club. She attended St. Peter\s Catholic School and was a charter member of St. Peter\s Catholic School Band. Josephine was a 1936 graduate of Beaver Dam High School and attended Mount Mary for one year on a scholarship. Jo volunteered to organize the class of 1936 reunions. She worked as a bookkeeper at Buchda and Mullin Garage, cashier at Newton and Wenz, and Beaver Dam Wholesale. She retired in 1981 from the Marine Bank after working there 13 years. Josephine was very active and enjoyed playing cards with many different card groups as well as with many of her friends. Josephine became a member and officer of the Beaver Dam A.A.R.P in 1981 and was on the board of directors and treasurer for 15 years. She volunteered as a tax-aide at the Senior Citizens for 15 years and traveled all over the county helping seniors with their taxes. She served as a volunteer benefit specialist for the Dodge Commission on Aging which involved helping residents with their homestead tax, Medicare, supplement insurance and balancing their checkbooks. Jo volunteered for the American Red Cross and served on the Board of Directors for six years and as a Gray Lady for 5 years. She also volunteered for the St. Joseph\s Hospital auxiliary for 20 years and served as President and Treasurer of the Auxiliary. She delivered Meals on Wheels twice a month for six years. She joined the Beaver Dam Woman\s Club in 1981 and served on various committees including sponsoring and awarding High School scholarships. Jo joined the Dodge Cancer Society in 1975. She started out as the Crusade chairman for Beaver Dam for two years and then became county chairman. She served as secretary for 5 years and treasurer for 4 years. Jo helped on all the crusades every year. Jo was a member of the National Association of Federal Employees serving as secretary and second vice president. She joined the Senior Citizen in 1981 and worked as the project chairman and treasurer. Jo helped members balance their checkbooks, served as chairman of the bazaar and helped with trips and programs. Josephine was a life-long member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish, formally St. Peter\s Parish. She served as the Catholic Stewardship chairman for several years and secretary/treasurer of the bingo committee for 23 years. She was a member of the St. Katharine Drexel Parish Catholic Women Society holding various offices, helping with bazaars, funeral dinners, meetings and committees. Jo was the regent and past regent for the Daughters of Isabella and organized the bingo party for the high school scholarships. She served as the state treasurer for two years. Jo has been a member and an officer of the St. Peter\s Band Guild. She had been in a band card group for the past 22 years which presents the band with a $100 donation every year. Jo has accompanied many musicians in the band for their solo and ensemble competition. Jo received the Bank One Retiree Volunteer of the Year Award in 1986. Josephine would like to thank her nieces, Bernie Hafenstein and Celine Brzezinski for all their help and concern over the past several years.
