Obituary: Martha Robinson, 88, of Weirton, WV died 23, 2015, at the Weirton Medical . Born on 6, 1926, in Wheeling, WV, Martha was a daughter of the late Walter and Mary Austie Friend Henderson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack C. Robinson in of 1995; and her sister, Joan H. Vorhees. Martha graduated from West Liberty State and was employed as a school teacher until her sons were born. Most of her life, she took care of her family. She was a member of First Christian Church in Weirton and the P.E.O. She is survived by her two sons, Dr. Mark Robinson and his wife Janice, and Craig Robinson; and a grandson, Brian Robinson all of Westover, WV. Private services will be held at the Greco-Hertnick , 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Obituary: Margaret Christine Robinson passed away on May 5, 2015, at the Hodges , where she most recently resided since moving from Edgewood Summit. She was 97 years old. Born in Lincoln , West Virginia, on 24, 1918, the daughter of George T. and Lelia M. Walker, her family moved to Charleston when she was three months old. A widow since 2009, she was married to Okey F. Robinson for 62 years, with whom she raised four boys: Gerald, Dennis, Rodney, and Michael. Her only sibling, Clyde Walker, and her eldest son, Gerald (“Jerry”), predeceased her. Margaret had eight grandchildren – Craig, John, Nathan, Katherine, Jeffrey, Alexandra, Mathew, and Christina and five great grandchildren – Reese, Trent, Sienna, Summer, and Zoe. Margaret attended Lincoln Junior High and was graduated from Charleston High School in 1936. She worked at Kanawha Banking and Trust until she married on 23, 1946. Active in the church, she joined Schwamb Presbyterian Church at age 13 and became a faithful member of Kanawha United Presbyterian Church after the construction of the interstate highway through Charleston took Schwamb Church in 1970. She served in several capacities in the church, including School teacher, Women’s Society President, sang with the choir, belonged to the Presbyterian Women’s Circle, and served two terms as Elder. She also worked at several dress shops in town, including Peck’s, for many years, once her boys were grown. A memorial service will be held to remember Margaret at 4:00 p.m. on , May 24, 2015, at Bartlett-Burdette-Cox , 513 Tennessee Avenue, followed by a reception at Kanawha United Presbyterian Church, 1009 Virginia Street, East. |
