Obituary: AD1 Robert W. Schultz, USN-Ret., 85 of Arlington passed away 30, 2015. Bob Gus was born 4, 1930 in Columbus, Ohio to Gustav B. and Mary E. Schultz. He graduated from Reynoldsburg High School in 1948 were he was a member of the first football team at Reynoldsburg. He played left tackle and earned letters in all sports. He attended Miami University at Oxford, Ohio; Otterbein in Westerville, Ohio; Chabot Jr. , in Livermore, California. He earned an Associate Degree in Air Transportation & Business from Highline in Midway, Washington in 1986. He joined the Naval Air Reserve, Navy Air Station in Columbus, Ohio. He was called to active duty for the Korean Conflict. He was released from active duty to civilian life where he went into the insurance field as an agent for Monumental Life Insurance; district agent for the Lutheran Mutual Life Insurance in Galion, Ohio; agent for the Republic-Franklin Insurance in Columbus, Ohio. He was recalled to active duty in 1963 for the Vietnam Conflict stationed at NAS Grosse LLE, Michigan. Duties during Bobs naval career included; instructor-recruiter; aircraft line supervisor; power plants supervisor; Shore Patrol Officer, and squadron supply officer. He transferred to the Fleet Reserve in of 1980, duty stations included, Naval Air Station Columbus, Ohio; Naval Air Station Grosse IIe, Michigan; Naval Air Reserve Training Unit; Clinton AFB in Wilmington, Ohio; Naval Air Station in Seattle, WA; Naval Air Station, Whidbey Island, WA; Naval Air Reserve Unit, Alameda, CA attached to ATKRON-304; and Naval Air Station Los Alamitos, CA. Bob retired from Boeing in Everett, Washington as clerk/dispatcher in 1995. He was former originator and director of Faith Lutheran ARTOS food program providing service to the Everett Gospel Mission with venison and foodstuffs. He was past president of the Faith Lutheran Church Congregation. He was a former Republican precinct committeeman for LOMA precinct; former member and Chief of Galena, Ohio Fire Department; member of the American Legion Band, Galion, Ohio; Everett Eagles Band, Everett, WA; Everett Community Band; member of American Legion Post #49, Wilmington, Ohio; Master Mason Lodge #129 in Arlington, WA; Fleet Reserve Association (FRA) Branch #170, Everett, WA; and a volunteer counselor with the Retire Activities Office (RAO) Smokey Point Navy Complex. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 50 years, Clara M. Schultz who was a registered nurse. Bob is survived by his wife, Charlene J. Schultz; son, David and wife Peggy with their children, Travis and Elizabeth of Arlington; daughters, Anita Simonton and husband, Mark with their children, Peter and Sarah of Monore, WA, and Cheryl Schultz-Szabo with her children, Carl, Jonathan and Hannah of Maplewood, MN; step-sons, Tim and Vicki Adams and family of Arlington; and Mike and Sylvia Adams and family of Redding, CA; and step-daughter, Sherri Sears and family of Snohomish, WA; A celebration of Bobs life will be held at Faith Lutheran Church of North Lakewood, WA 98259 with Pastor Paul Anderson officiating on , 8, 2015 at 2:00 PM. Obituary: Robert W. Seabloom Jr. passed away peacefully on a beautiful sunny afternoon, at home in the house he built, overlooking Lake Washington, surrounded by love, best friends and his beloved dogs, Minnie, Tessa, and Becky at his side. Rob fought a courageous and determined battle against cancer. Rob grew up in the Wedgwood neighborhood of Seattle as a child, graduated from Nathan Hale High School (class of 1970) and the University of Washington with a BA. in Science. Rob was predeceased in life by his high school sweetheart and wife of 38 years, Barbara J. Oyloe . He was also predeceased by Robert W. Seabloom & Joan E. Seabloom, parents. Rob is survived by Walt & Norma Oyloe, Mary Oyloe-Fenner, Jim, Erik, & Christian Fenner, Wendy J. Seabloom, sister, and cousins Carol Underwood & Nancy Lyons. Rob is survived by his friend of 30 yrs., his love and constant companion for the last 5, Patti Stormer, and her daughter, Larisa Brown. Rob was the educated adventurer, a commercial fisherman for 32 years, building and designing his own boat He witnessed wildlife & landscapes few of us will ever see. Rob was a master builder who could create & build anything. He was known for his wit and sense of humor as the consummate practical joker. Rob was a talented trumpet player and a member of the Nathan Hale Jazz band winning a national contest in Reno, Nevada. Rob had a passionate love of music and a heart of courage and spirit dipped in 14K gold. He was a giant talent in many, many areas. Rob will be deeply missed by many. Seattle has lost one of its finest Rob flew on the wings of an eagle. Obituary: Robert Lee Sommer, 72 of Bremerton, Washington, passed peacefully into eternity on , May 17, 2015 to be reunited with his eternal companion Pamela LeRae Tuttle Sommer who preceded him less than 2 years ago in of 2013 after 52 years of marriage. He was born on 1, 1942 in Chester, Pennsylvania to Harry and Margaret (Hall) Sommer, the 6th of 6 children. Bob joined the US Navy at age 17, to enter the Vietnam War. He spent many months in Vietnam earning 3 bronze campaign stars. Bob retired as a Chief Petty Officer in 1979. His duty stations also included Santa Monica and San Diego, California; Meridian, Mississippi; Rota, Spain; Jackson, Tennessee; Bremerton, Washington; Charleston, SC; Corpus Christi, TX. In 1980, after his Navy retirement he moved his family back to the Bremerton area and found a new career with Lockheed Martin Strategic Weapons Facility in Silverdale, WA as a missile tester, he retired in 2000. He was very proud of the rights we have in our country and for all those who continually sacrifice to maintain those freedoms. Bob was dedicated to the Lord's work in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He had served as a Bishop and was currently teaching the Gospel Doctrine class and a temple worker. He and his wife served two missions with their church, one of which was at the Family History in Salt Lake City. Bob was also a Stake Family History Coordinator and loved working on his own genealogy. Bob was an avid gardener, also enjoyed watching most sports on TV, and movies especially the old Westerns and spending time with his family. Bob started Sommer Summer Camp for his grandchildren and would take them camping for a week every summer as soon as they were old enough to adhere to his regimented schedules and obey most of the rules. had tons of fun together camping, fishing, swimming, teach them how to cook and clean up as you go and most of all the water fights. Bob took that opportunity at camp with his grandchildren to bear his testimony and teach them the gospel. In his retirement, he and Pam were able to travel across the US with their truck and fifth-wheel to see most of the 48 states. often brought their grandkids with them to share with them the beauty of this great land of the free. Bob is survived by his 3 children, Robert L. Sommer, Jr., Barbara Sutton and Douglas Sommer; 8 grandchildren, Levi Sutton IV, Bradley and Donald Sommer, Emily Liddle, Timothy, Amy, Andrew and Jacob Sutton; and his sister, Lorraine Aunt Lou Ardes. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Dolores Garvey, Harry Joseph Sommer (infant), Charleen Brittingham and Donald Sommer. Viewing will be at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. 2225 Perry Ave, Bremerton, WA 98310 on , May 20th 4-6 pm and May 21st from 1-2:45 p.m. followed by the Service at 3 p.m. Private Committal service with full military honors will be held the following morning at 9 a.m. at Tahoma National , Kent, WA. under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn , Bremerton, WA. |
