Obituary: Sylvia Josefina Reifers, Age 73, departed this earth on 7th, 2015 at her home in Mill Creek WA after a brief battle with cancer. Sylvia was born May 26th,1942 in Oaxaca, Mexico, the daughter of Rogelio Chagoya and Josefina Romero. Sylvia grew up learning literature, music, religion and was a cultured person who appreciated interesting conversation. She learned to play piano at an early age and always enjoyed music, especially classical, tango, pop and Mexican folk music. Two words that would describe Sylvia are; "Classy Lady". She received her teaching degree at the school, Normal de Educadoras in Mexico City and became a kindergarten teacher after her schooling. Sylvia's priorities were her family and looking young and happy. Rarely would you see her without a smile on her face and never, ever would you see her without makeup and a nice outfit on. Her favorite hobby was shopping at Macy's, specially the Lancôme station. In 1969, Sylvia married Xicotental Garcia and was blessed with two children, Rogelio and Adrian Garcia. Sylvia divorced and remarried to George Reifers in 1985 and moved to Mill Creek, WA. where they remained together until George's passing in 2007. Sylvia was always a full time mother and wife but also enjoyed teaching her kindergarteners Spanish for over 20 years in Canyon Park, WA. Sylvia was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic church in Mill Creek, WA. There she volunteered as a Eucharistic minister. Sylvia was always a very devout Catholic who passed her faith and beliefs on to her kids. Sylvia is survived by 3 sisters and 2 brothers, Nancy, Irma, Carmen, Rogelio and Javier, all who reside in Mexico; and her sons, Rogelio Garcia of Bothell, WA and Adrian Garcia of Duvall, WA.; three grandsons, AJ, Tristan, and Santiago and a granddaughter, Regina Marie. She also leaves behind number of other relatives and close friends. Sylvia, you will always be loved and remembered. A service to celebrate Sylvia's life and faith will be held at Sunset Hills & Memorial Park, 1215 145th Pl SE in Bellevue, WA on , 15, 2015. Visitation hours for Sylvia will be from 11am to 1:00pm. A Rosary service will start at 1:00pm with a service and committal to follow, beginning at 1:30pm.
