Obituary: Chris Rasmusson of Chehalis passed away on May 25, 2015. Chris was born May 17, 1949 in Vancouver, Washington to Adrian and Marjorie Rasmusson. The family moved to Chehalis in 1959, where Chris graduated from W.F. West High School in 1967 and married Vickey Chapman in 1968. Except for five years in Alaska during the pipeline boom, they stayed in Chehalis and raised their two daughters Kimber and Heather. Chris started his lifes work in the early seventies in the parts department at Floes, Inc. in Chehalis. He worked for Carrington and Lynnwood Equipment in Anchorage Alaska and the U-Joint under the previous owner from 1979 until he started C.R. Parts, a heavy equipment, truck, and industrial parts house in Chehalis in 1991. Chris was appreciative of his employees, customers, and friends for their support and humor over the years. Chris is survived by two daughters; Kimber Texidor (Shawn Smerski) of Aberdeen and Heather Brown (Scott) of Kalama; two brothers, Mike Rasmusson of Lacey and Alan Rasmusson of Centralia; a sister-in-law Diane Ramusson of Chehalis; a grandson Brad Texidor of Tacoma, a granddaughter Kaylee Peterson (Boston) of Longview and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service is planned for 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Sticklin Chapel in Centralia. A reception will follow at Riverside Golf Course in Chehalis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chehalis Foundation Scholarships in care of Linda Smith at 872 S.E. Evergreen Drive, Chehalis, WA 98532. |

Obituary: Virginia (Norris) Rasmussen passed away 10, 2012 at Liberty Country Place, Centralia. Friends and relatives called her Ginnie or Ging. She was born on 5, 1918, on Logan Hill in Chehalis to George and Amelia Norris. She lived her entire life in the Logan Hill/Forest area. She attended Chehalis schools, including Dillenbaugh Grade School. She married Elmer L Rasmussen on 29, 1936. built a home on Logan Hill (Yates Road) in the early 1940s and later after Elmer passed away she moved next door into a log cabin hand built by her father, George Norris, in the early 1940s, where she lived until 2005. She loved living in and fixing up that cabin. She is survived by her 4 children: George (Mary) Rasmussen, Napavine, Allen (Colleen) Rasmussen, Aberdeen, Gary (Nancy) Rasmussen, Chehalis and Dorothy (Steve) Sorrell, Rochester.10 grandchildren: Jay (LaNita) Rasmussen, LaGrande, OR, Robin Rasmussen, Napavine, Bret (Ronda) Rasmussen, Nadlae (Rick) Ainley, Granite Falls, Sharla (Keith) Cameron, Rochester, Lori (Dan) Nelson, Woodland, Karen (Matt) Lebeck, Winlock, Teresa (Tim) Bagan, Julie (James) Miracle, Rochester, and Clyde (Brenda) Sorrell, Boise ID.13 great grandchildren:Jayson Rasmussen, Amber(Luke) Hines, and Brittany Rasmussen, LaGrande, OR, Bailey and Jacob Ainley Granite Falls, Sydney and Cade Cameron, Rochester, Katie and Emily Nelson, Woodland, Taylor and Morgan Lebeck, Winlock and Nathan Miracle and Karlie Bagan, Rochester. One great-great grandchild, Brooklyn Rasmussen, LaGrande, OR. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. Virginia lived a very full and active life. Was a member of the Logan Hill Grange for 71 years. She held many chairs and was an accomplished pianist and played for Grange programs/dances. She and Elmer loved to dance and never missed a night dance at either the Grange halls or local dance halls. She was also a member of Moose Lodge 1109, Chehalis Eagles, Chehalis- Centralia Cribbage Club, American Cribbage Congress and Orthopedic Guild. She loved playing cards and won many awards in cribbage including a rare 29 hand award. She taught her grandchildren math skills by playing card games with them. She also enjoyed playing Bingo and the slots. There was always a night eat-and-play cards party hosted at her home for friends and relatives. Hobbies included sewing, embroidering, crocheting, wallpapering, cooking, baking and gardening. She was an awesome cook and worked at Mary McCranks Restaurant for 30 years as a cook. She also cooked for charitable events and took part in the cooking club at Liberty Country Place. She canned foods from the vegetable garden, as well as fruits, jams/jellies, meats, relishes, pickles and homemade sauerkraut. She loved flowers and grew many varieties, (some she started from cuttings) which she generously shared with others. She was a caring and nurturing person who always took care of those folks who couldn drive or do their own shopping. She did the grocery shopping for her elderly parents as well as others, and always made sure their needs were being met. She was always meticulous about her appearance, getting her hair and nails done on a regular basis - even while she was at Liberty Country Place. She enjoyed traveling to Reno (when you could play slots with real coins), the Dakotas and Washington D.C. and day trips to the casinos on the purple bus. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Charlie Norris, Ruby Hoffman, Ruth Steere, Bill Norris, Katie Seroshek, George Norris, Joe Norris and all of their spouses, several nephews, and grandson, Kirk Sorrell. A Celebration of Life service is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. on , 18th, 2012 at Sticklin Chapel, Centralia, George Rasmussen and Leonard Norris will officiate. Burial will be at Claquato , Chehalis, followed by a potluck luncheon at Logan Hill Grange, Chehalis. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.
