Obituary: Joy B. Rains, 81, of Yakima lost her battle with cancer on 19, 2015 She was born 22, 1933 in Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma to Jesse and Lee O'Dell. She lived in Yakima for many years. She loved working in the garden, crocheting, making afghans and dolls. She won an award for best yard in Poteau, Oklahoma. I want to thank Hospice for their support and my sister for what she did for mom. Joy is survived by her children: Burt (Charlene) of Oregon, Rebecca (Mike) of Whidbey Island, Libby (Danny) of Whidbey Island, David (Dee) of Yakima, Penny (Mike) of Yakima, Lisa (Eldon) of Yakima, John (Carol) of Naches. 18 grandkids and one brother Virgil of Oklahoma and sister Sue from Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband Jay Rains and her parents and lots of brothers and sisters. A Celebration of life will be , 30th at West Valley Park at 5:00pm. |

Obituary: Born on 21, 1923 in McKenzie, North Dakota to Porter and Bertha McNeill. Edith Elaine Rains died on 16, 2011. She was the youngest of seven children. She was happily married in 1948 to Richard Rains and enjoyed 34 wonderful years until his passing in 1982. She is survived by her sister, Fern (Nick) Scharff; her son, Richard (Denise) Rains; her daughter, Elaine (Tom) Lutyens; grandchildren, Helen, Jonathan, Rachel, Jenn, and Joe; and great grandchildren, Joshua, Emma, Jillian, Monica and Robbie. She was predeceased by one grandson, Joseph. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. You would find her on the golf course early spring to late fall. She also enjoyed reading, bowling, bird hunting with her husband, and volunteered at the county library for over 30 years. She will always be remembered for her quick wit, sense of humor, grandma crackers, and chocolate milkshakes. An informal graveside service will be held at Pines on , 25, 2011 at 11:00AM.
