Obituary: Reehl, James William, 86, followed his devoted wife of 64 years to their heavenly home on , 9, 2015. a lengthy illness, James smiled his final smile at home in Montgomery, AL only 26 days following his lovely Sue's passing. James and Sue's family is saddened at their earthly departure, but rejoicing at their loving reunion, while already missing their strong faith, family fellowship, unconditional love, and wise counsel. Born in Cullman, AL, 19, 1928, James was predeceased by his parents, William Emil Ruehl and Stella Elizabeth Neely Ruehl, as well as his sister, Edith Ruehl (Ollie) Keith. Great grandson of Nickolaus Andreas Ruehl and Katherine Stamm Ruehl, James was proud to be a descendant of two of the original German immigrant settlers in 1873 who helped found Cullman, AL. Enjoying the culture of his ancestry, James and Sue were regular dancers of the Polka and Waltz. James was a proud US Army Air Forces veteran of WWII, and is survived by his one Reehl nephew who is also a veteran, James David (Kaye) Keith, of Woodbridge, VA. James and Sue's children survive them and are: James Roger Reehl; Susan (Jim) Reehl Broderick Mallett; Starr Reehl Wilson; and Deborah Jo Burton, all from Montgomery, and William Rance (Dwaylah) Reehl of Fairhope, Alabama. Cherished surviving grandchildren are: Theresa (Kyle) Johnson; Bryan (Jackie) Broderick; Jordan (Whitney) Broderick; Lesley Wilson Traver; Caroline (Will) Boykin; and Cameron Reehl. Nine precious surviving great-grandchildren are: Bowyn & Bridger Broderick; Ryan & Logan Broderick; Toby, Julian, Mason, & Talon Johnson; and Leavie Boykin. Visitation for James will be held from 5pm-7pm , 11, 2015, at Leak Memory Chapel. A celebration of the life of James will be held on , 12, 2015, at Dalraida United Methodist Church, 3817 Atlanta Hwy, Montgomery, Alabama, the Reehl family church for over 55 years. 's visitation will begin at 2:00 pm; the service at 3:00 pm; and the graveside service with military honors at Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens immediately following. All guests are then invited back to Dalraida Church for fellowship and food with the family. Pallbearers will be Matthew, Blake and Nathan Weathersby; Kenny Cook; Mike and Greg Waldrop; Butch Waldrop; David Burnham; and Jimbo and Tommy Waldrop. Obituary: Reehl, Betty Sue Waldrop, 84, peacefully passed away on , 13, 2015, at home in Montgomery, Alabama. Sue was born on 21, 1930, in Cullman, Alabama to Thomas Oscar Waldrop and R Leavie Patterson Waldrop, both predeceasing her. Surviving Sue is her beloved husband, James William Reehl, to whom she was happily married for 64 years. Sue's brother, Charles Wert (Frances) Waldrop, from Cullman, Alabama, also survives her. James and Sue's children survive her and are: James Roger Reehl; Susan (Jim) Reehl Broderick Mallett; Starr Reehl Wilson; and Deborah Jo Burton, all from Montgomery, and William Rance (Dwaylah) Reehl of Fairhope, Alabama. Obituary: John Edward Reeder Decatur Mr. Reeder, 88, passed away , 2, 2014. He is a lifelong resident of Morgan , was a member of Grant Street Church of Christ. He retired from South Central Bell in 1982 after 33 years of service. his retirement, he became a licensed real estate agent. Mr. Reeder was a WWII and Korean War veteran and served on the Selective Service Board of Morgan for 12 years. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Margaret Dodd Reeder, and his parents, Ruby and a Reeder. Mr. Reeder is survived by his siblings, Edith Garner of Hueytown, AL, Myrtle Davis of Memphis, TN, Russell Reeder of Massey, AL and Rachel Self of Trinity, AL. Obituary: Winifred Winnie Almira Grist Reed Decatur, AL Mrs. Winifred Winnie Almira Grist Reed, 95, passed away at her home in Decatur on 15, 2017. She was born on Dec 28, 1921 in Blair, Kansas. She taught school in a two-roomed schoolhouse in Kansas between years of college. She married Jerald Reed on Feb 6, 1944 and moved to Galveston, Texas after the wedding. Once her children were born she stayed at home. her last child was in school she also started volunteering her time. The family moved to Decatur in 1971 from the Chicago area and she promptly started her volunteer work here. She drove for Meals on Wheels for several years, worked with the American Red Cross and Volunteer , and was active at First United Methodist Church, but she is primarily remembered for her many hours of volunteer work at Decatur General Hospital. She was a founding member of the Decatur General Auxiliary and served in all positions and committees including that of President in 1987-1988. She received numerous volunteer awards, including the Decatur General Foundation John A Caddell Award in 1996, the Alabama Hospital Association Outstanding Auxilian Award in 1997, the Civitan Citizen of the Year in 1998, the Decatur Chamber of Commerce Humanitarian of the Year Award in 2000, and the Volunteer Heart of the Community Award in 2005 and 2007. Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by her husband, Jerald Reed; her parents, Walter and Minnie (Johnston) Grist; five brothers, Paul, John, George, Walter, and Warren Grist; three sisters, Marion Christy, Mary Snodgrass, and Anna Ayres; son-in-law, Col (ret) Ken Beeck; and great-grandson, Gavin Washburn. She is survived by her children, Judith Beeck, Bruce (Joan) Reed, Nancy Klar, Susan (Dave) Letourneau, and David (Laura Hansen) Reed; grandchildren, Kristen Beeck Washburn (Ben), Diane Beeck MacMillan (Will), Kelly Reed, Jacqueline Reed, Liz Klar, Julie Letourneau Taccino (Mike), Katie Letourneau Price (Matt), Charlie Hansen-Reed, and Jack Hansen-Reed; great-grandchildren Owen Washburn, Anna MacMillan, Madeleine MacMillan, and Leah Washburn; and sister, Ruth Grist Evans.
