Obituary: Ryan Scott Runia 1982-2013 Ryan Scott Runia, our son, brother, husband, father, and friend passed away unexpectedly on 11, 2013. Ryan leaves behind a devoted spouse, Cari, four young children, and a large and admiring family. Ryan was born on 18, 1982 in Provo, Utah to R. Scott and Tamara Wood Runia. He is the oldest of seven children and from his youth championed a happy home. His willingness to love and serve began early on in his life and has been magnified through adulthood. All who associated with Ryan remember the brightness and joy he exuded: the life of the party, yet quick to include all. Ryan never met a person he didn like… unless, perhaps they were driving a bit too slow in the fast lane. Ryan was an eagle scout. He played football at and graduated from Timpview High School. Ryan found great happiness serving a Spanish speaking mission in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He received a bachelors degree in Business Management and Digital Media from Utah Valley University. And for the past seven and a half years, he has worked for the Runia Group in Private Banking and Investments at Merrill Lynch. Ryan was dedicated to his role as the provider for his home and family, and was on business in Salt Lake City, Utah upon the event of his sudden passing. Ryan married his dear wife Cari Nicole Wright on 7, 2004. Ryan and Caris unique and adoring union is and will continue to be admired by all associated with them. Their legacy of humor, light-heartedness, and grand conviction despite the wiles of life will forever be remembered. Together, Ryan and Cari have four darling children, Jaac Ryan 7, Grace Nicole 6, Piper Lucy 3, and Thys Raymond 14 months. Ryan was the happiest when sharing the good news of the gospel and the joy it brings. He was a beautiful example of a person who lived true to his testimony of Jesus Christ. Ryan loved sharing his hobbies with his family and his young kids. To us, he was like a big kid himself, finding joy in flying model and paper airplanes, rockets, skiing, boating, Lake Powell, and traveling. In fact, he searched far and wide in pursuit of the perfect Carnitas Taco, we are pretty sure hes finally found it! Ryan is survived by his wife Cari Nicole Runia, son Jaac Ryan, daughters Grace Nicole, Piper Lucy, and son Thys Raymond, Father R. Scott Runia, Mother Tamara Wood Runia, his siblings Dane (Stacy), Carly (Eric) Red, Tanner (Joellen), Nolan, Pater, and Berkley Runia. Viewing services will be held for Ryan on , 15, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Walker Sanderson funeral home, 646 E 800 N, Orem, Utah. On , 16, 2013, Viewing services from 9:00-10:30 am and service at 11:00 am will be located at Ryans Stake at 1674 N 200 W, Orem, Utah. Obituary: Tony George Rukavina, age 93, passed away in Salt Lake City, Utah 13, 2014. Tony was born on 22, 1921 in Rock Springs, Wyoming to John and Kata Zupan Rukavina. Tony was the youngest of four surviving children and was the only boy. He graduated from Rock Springs High School in 1941 and entered the United States Army in 1942. Tony served as a First Lieutenant and Intelligence Staff Officer in the Artillery Division in the Southern Philippines. Tony spent 4 years in the military and was honorably discharged in 1946. He returned to Wyoming and went to University of Wyoming at Laramie for 5 years earning a Bachelor Degree of Science in Mechanical Engineering. While in college, Tony played saxophone and clarinet in various jazz bands on weekends. He also met his bride Patricia Sellers who had earned a double degree at the university. Their mutual love of music attracted Patricia and Tony to each other. subsequently fell in love and were married in Urie, Wyoming in 1948. Tony's career in mining engineering took Patricia and Tony to several states before settling in Utah and raising their family of 3 sons and a daughter. Tony continued his education at the University of Utah by receiving a certificate of Business Administration in 1959. He was a hardworking honest man who was well liked and respected. Tony always provided for his wife and family and they never went without. A lifetime was spent out travelling with the family that included lots of fishing and camping trips. Tony retired from Kennecott Copper Corp. in 1986 and became more involved with friends and family and enjoyed becoming a grandpa. In 2010, Tony and Patricia became great grandparents as well.Tony is survived by Patricia Sellers Rukavina, his loving wife of 66 years, two sons, John Allen Rukavina (Christy) and Lawrence Dwight Rukavina, and daughter Ramona Rukavina. He is survived by 4 grandchildren, Robert Allen Rukavina, Christopher John Rukavina, Samantha Jane Rukavina, and Amelia Anne Rukavina and great grandson Jaxon David Rukavina. Tony is preceded in death by his parents Kata and John Rukavina, sisters Mary Penkert, Manda Crofts, and Eva Devlin. Tony is also preceded in death by his beloved son Richard Tony Rukavina who passed away in of this year. services will be held for Tony on 19, 2014 at 1PM MDT in the chapel at Wasatch Lawn and Memorial Park at 3401 Highland Drive in Salt Lake City, Utah. Following the service Tony will be interred in the Whispering Pines section of Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. We would like to thank all the competent and compassionate medical staff at the various medical facilities that Tony frequented in the months leading up to his death. And a special thank you to Dr. Stephen Aslami who has attended to Dad's good health for decades. Your support and guidance have been invaluable.You have always been there for us Dad and we will never ever forget you\.We love you so much. |
