Obituary: Marion Colleen Young Romney, 93, passed away 27 , 2014. She was born 16 1920 in Salt Lake City, UT to Francis Marion and Foncet Goldsbrough Young. She was raised in Salt Lake and attended Hawthorn Elementary, South Jr. High and South High School and completed her education at Henagers Business . She was a secretary for Sterling W. Sill at New York Life Insurance where she met her husband Clyde Stanley Romney. were married on 30 , 1943in the Salt Lake City Temple. raised their two daughters, Claudia and Jill in Provo. Marion enjoyed sewing, embroidery, crochet, knitting, hand quilts and oil paints. She was a member of the Art Guild and Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many facets including Relief Society President and teacher, Junior School Teacher, Young Womens, Secretary to the Stake President, an MTC Volunteer, and Temple worker in the Provo and Mt. Timpanogos Temples. She also served a mission to the Tennessee Nashville Mission. Marion is survived by her daughters, Claudia (Lowell R.) Johnson of Orem, Jill (David E.) Woodbury of Orem, her sister Marjorie Fay Y. Gough, brother Douglas Keith Young, 7 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Stanley Young, her parents Francis Marion and Foncet Goldsbrough Young, 1 sister Foncet Maxine Young Kershaw, her grandparents, Susanna Bigler & John Robert Goldsbrough, Francis Marion Keeth and John Floyd Young. Friends and relatives may greet the family from 10-10:45 before the 11 a.m. on , May 3rd, at the LDS Chapel, 151 West 1600 South, Orem, Utah. |
