Obituary: Alfred M. Rosenfield was born on 7, 1927 in Galveston Texas. A proud 5th generation Texan, he was affectionately known as Big Al or Poppi. He passed away peacefully on 18, 2016. His daughter, Gina Rosenfield Levy and his beloved wife of 55 years, Beverly Pozez Rosenfield, preceded Alfred in death. Al was a mans man and a womans man as well! He appreciated the finer things in life. Al loved seafood and could be found twice a week at Pappadeux with one or more of his beloved family members. Poppi was all about family and his large extended family loved him dearly. He had four children; Mark Rosenfield (Naomi), Cheryl Spellman (Richard), Gina Rosenfield Levy (deceased) and Jeffrey Rosenfield (Karine). Poppi also had ten loving Grandchildren; Jennifer Ratner (Hal), Adam Rosenfield (Lauren), Josh Eitzen (Alisa), Robbie Eitzen, Philip Spellman, Amy Spellman, Steven Levy (Liz), Daniel Levy (Tori), Max Rosenfield and Jake Rosenfield. Poppi also had seven Great Grandchildren; Samantha Ratner, Sydney Ratner, Sophia Eitzen, Davna Rosenfield, Oliver Rosenfield, Andrew Rosenfield and Grant Levy. Al was Uncle Al to many nieces and nephews and was a favorite of all of them. He rarely missed a family affair or opportunity to make a funny toast. Al attended the University of Texas at Austin and was a member of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity. Al was a very successful businessman. In the late 1950s, Al and his brother Sam Rosenfield co-founded Payless Shoe Stores and operated many stores throughout the State of Texas. Al was a very hard -worker and was often found working along side employees until the task was completed. Al related well with folks from all walks of life and once you met him you did not forget him. He was a man of great integrity and generosity. He supported many charitable organizations including the Jewish Federation and the Southern Poverty Law . He believed in the principle of giving until it feels good. Alfred was a longtime member of Temple Emanu-El in Dallas and Temple Beth Israel in Austin. Alfred was very well traveled and believed traveling was the greatest form of education. His kids and grandchildren relished the opportunity to play cards with him and rarely beat him. Alfred was also a dog lover and always had a dog living with him. Alfreds family would like to thank all of his medical caretakers and Vitas hospice. The family also wants to especially thank Als longtime personal caretakers Rosa and Lettie for their love and dedication to him for the past 20 years. Obituary: Joyce Rosenbusch, 88, went to be with our Lord on 28, 2015, surrounded by her loving family at St. Davids Hospital in Georgetown, Texas. Joyce was born on 21, 1927 in Georgetown, Texas, to Frank and Lil Hausenfluck. In 1947, Joyce married the love of her life, Rudolf Rosenbusch. She and Rudolf were avid Rodeo fans, and it was at the arena that Rudolf pursued a red-headed barrel racer that he would call his wife for 53 years. Their devoted marriage continues to serve as an inspiration for their children and grandchildren. Joyce worked 32 years at Southwestern University as the Supervisor of Alumni Records, where she received the Pearl A. Neas Award and was declared an Honorary Alumni. Joyce enjoyed most of all her partnership with Rudolf on their ranch, where they worked livestock, plowed fields, and mended fences together. Her work ethic paralleled that of her husbands and together they emulated strength of responsibility and dedication to service for their children. Joyce created a loving home for her family and one of her greatest joys was being a Grandmother to 5 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and multiple unofficial grandchildren within her community and church. Joyce joined the Lawler Baptist Church in 1991 and served in many capacities; but perhaps her most beloved congregational duty was serving as Food Chairman and cooking for her church family. She enjoyed preparing meals and feeding large gatherings of people, including the annual Rosenbusch summer BBQ. She loved travel, especially to Bluegrass festivals and Colorado. Without a doubt, her biggest passion was her grandchildren. She was a major supporter of the FFA program and received the Honorary Chapter Farmer Degree. Joyce loved watching her grandchildren participate in FFA events and livestock shows, and she was their biggest fan! Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Rudolf Rosenbusch. She leaves behind her loving family to cherish her memory: Sisters, Donna Campbell of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Billie B. Smith of Round Rock, Texas; Children, Sharon Loosier (Alan) of Waxahachie, Texas, Bobby Rosenbusch (Jane) of Florence, Texas, and Gary Rosenbusch (late wife, Vickie) of Glen Rose, Texas; Grandchildren, Jennifer Wilson (Wes) of Waxahachie, Texas, Melissa Loerwald (Lance) of Florence, Texas, Mark Rosenbusch (Andrea) of Burnet, Texas, Corey Rosenbusch (Katie) of Falls Church, Virginia, and Tate Rosenbusch of Denver, Colorado; and Great-grandchildren: Ryley, Mikaela, Lilly, Brady, Mason, Landon, Hannah, Bryce, Ava, Elle. The family will receive guests for a time of visitation on , 1, 2015 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Cook-Walden Davis in Georgetown, Texas. A Celebration of Joyces life will be held at 10:00 A.M. on , 2, 2015 at Lawler Baptist Church, 151 Road 230, in Florence, Texas. Interment will follow at Florence in Florence, Texas. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Lawler Baptist Church, PO BOX 685, Florence, Texas 76527. by Cook-Walden Davis , 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas 78628 (512)863-2564. |
