Born in Nashville, Tennessee, ÂRocky spent his early years in Shreveport, Louisiana, but Âhome for him was the United States Army. ÂRocky is a highly decorated United States Army colonel whose career spanned World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He proudly served over 30 years in uniform, retiring in 1972. He is survived by his wife of nearly 59 years, Phyllis; children Darrell, Dudley, Denise and Darlene; grandchildren Nicole, Noelle, Christopher, Alexander, Stephen and Martha; and sister Eleanor. Obituary: Mary Jessie Gonzalez Roque (Susie) was called home to celebrate the birth of Jesus with God in heaven on 23, 2012. She was born on 24, 1946 in San Antonio, Texas. Susie was the first of five children born to Luz and Gudelia Gonzalez, who immigrated to the United States from Mexico so that they might have a piece of the American dream. Susie exhibited her value of education throughout her school career, graduating from L.W. Fox Vocational and Technical High School in 1964 and Southwest Texas State in 1968. She taught business classes at Burbank High School from 1970-71. She went on to serve proudly as a Senior Case Worker in the Office of U.S. Representative Henry B. Gonzalez and later as the District Office Director for U.S. Representative Charles A. Gonzalez. She was vital in supporting the efforts of the Congressmen as she assisted constituents trying to navigate federal bureaucracy.Her steadfast dedication to her job had an impact on so many individuals lives. She retired with 33 years of government service. Susies faith sustained her and most recently, she served as an assistant in St. Dominics Parish office, a position she loved. Susie was committed to many causes, but most especially to elevating the image of the Mexican American woman in society and the workplace. This led her to be a founding member of the Mexican American Business and Professional Womens Club of San Antonio in 1972. It was the first such organization in the state of Texas. She served as President and went on to positions at the District and State levels. Susies community involvement included raising funds for scholarships with the 1964 Fox Tech Reunion Committee, many of which are lifelong friends. Susies greatest legacy is her family. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. She delighted in the accomplishments of all, but most especially her boys - son, Pedro and grandsons, Brandon and Christian. She was preceded in death by her father, Luz Gonzalez, brothers Luz Jr, Federico, and Alejandro Gonzalez; sister Edilia Rodriguez, and nephew, Capt Jason Luz Gonzalez. Susie is survived by mother, Gudelia Gonzalez; son, Pedro Roque III; grandsons, Brandon and Christian Roque; brothers, Joe Louis Gonzalez (Maria), Ralph Gonzalez, Ruben Gonzalez; sisters, Anna Gonzalez Echeverri (Diego), Janie Dillard (Henry), Porfiria Riojas, Angelita Gonzalez; niece, Victoria Echeverri; nephews, Jacob Gonzalez (Amanda) and Gabriel Echeverri and numerous other family members who will love and miss her dearly. Obituary: Loretta was born 1929, in Natchitoches, Louisiana, second daughter of eight children, to Peter D. and Oralean B. LaCour. Her early years were spent in Natchitoches and later in California, where her parents moved the family. A young man followed from their hometown, and she married the Love of her life, Joseph Roque in 1955. To them Family was everything\ heir Love brought six lives into this world, Joseph Jr., Charlotte, Kevin, Donna, Ron & Brian. Life was simple she was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother. Birthdays, Holidays or any special occasion, we were always together. Aunt Rett and Uncle Brother, as there nieces and nephews called them, moved to Houston, Texas, in 1970. There they became very active at St. Francis of Asissi Church, in Marriage Encounter (couples sponsorship), the Eucharistic Ministry and more in Gods name. Lorettas hands were never idle, she loved sewing and crocheting, and taking care of home and family. Loving, caring, giving, educating, supporting and beautiful, she would always have a smile. Battling Parkinson's disease for 15 years tried to take that smile away, but she never gave up, and she always had Faith. She is at peace now, in the arms of our Lord, with her parents and four brothers, Richard LaCour, Maurice LaCour, Francis LaCour and Henry LaCour. She is survived by her husband Joseph, their children Joseph Jr., Charlotte (Bud), Kevin (Shelia), Donna (Andrew), Ron and Brian, her grandchildren, Andrew Jr. (Keisha), Angelique, Latonia, Kourtney, Glenisha (James), Christina and Mandy, her great grandchildren, Lauren, Grant and Blake, her sister Bernadine Rachal (Anthony), her twin brothers Earvin LaCour and Earl LaCour, and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
