Obituary: Charles Ernest Rogers, age 87, passed away on 24, 2016 at his home in San Antonio. He was born in Marlin, Texas on 24, 1928 to Clyde and Ruby Rogers. Charles graduated from South San High School. He was married to Madeline Rogers 6th, 1959 and remained together for 57 wonderful years. A World War II vet, Charles had a 30 year career in Civil Service for Kelly Airforce Base. He then owned and operated, Rogers Refrigeration for another 20 years. He was a 50 year Master Mason of the Davy Crockett Lodge. He had a passion for water skiing, snow skiing, and traveling with Madeline. He is survived by his wife, Madeline, his son, Robin Rogers, daughter, Linda Sriro, grandchildren, James Lovell, Michelle Cole, and great grandchildren, J.D. Lovell, Megan Kidd, and Liam Lovell, his niece and nephew, Bobby Adams, Shary Kaser and her daughter, Carrie. A visitation will be held , 29, 2016 at Sunset from 1:00pm-3:00 pm followed by the graveside service at Sunset Memorial Park at 1701 Austin Hwy San Antonio TX 78218. Mr. Rogers served as an Air Force pilot in WWII and Korea, then settled in California and went into real estate. retirement, he returned to Texas to be near his sisters, and met Anne Beere. had many happy years together participating in a very active family life, playing bridge and gardening. Charlie was a very kind and giving person and was loved and respected by all who knew him. He will be sincerely missed. Obituary: Mrs. Carrie Nadine Rogers passed away , 21, 2015, in Chambers , Texas, at the age of 86 years, 2 months, and 23 days. Born May 2, 1929, Mrs. Rogers had been a longtime resident of Douglass, Texas, before relocating to Chambers with family in recent years. She finished high school in the eleventh grade to marry L.B. Rogers. were married 9, 1947, in Gerard, Texas, and to this union four children were born: Al, Bill, Darlene, and Willie. started their lives together as farmers and soon entered the construction industry where she worked side by side with L.B. for around 60 years. During this time she never missed the birth of her grandchildren, whether she had to drive, fly, or ride a bus. She devoted her life to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her hobbies included fishing with her family with her bucket of soapy water she always took to the waters bank. She spend endless hours teaching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren how to fish. She also spent endless hours playing cards and dominoes with loved ones. She could also make the best biscuits in a cast iron skillet and was famous with her family for the hot rolls she could make. She resided in Dayton, Texas, where she lived with her daughter, Darlene, her husband Tommy Fountain, and Elijah Alkhatib. She was well cared for by her daughters-in-law, Tina Rogers and Jane Rogers. She had the ability to make everyone feel loved. Her special treat each morning was to sit on the front porch watching birds and squirrels playing and making sure they were fed. She spent countless hours on that porch with all of her family members. She loved her family reunions. Where was nothing more that she cherished than being with her family. She always tried to attend any family reunion that she possibly could. She stood by her husband L.B. during his lengthy illness. She was by his side every minute of every day. She taught her daughter what it meant to be a wife-a wife the way God intended for her to be. In her last days she tried to comfort the hearts of those around her. Countless times she let her family know that she was ready to go. She knew she was going to Heaven to live eternally. She let everyone in countless ways that she and Jesus had a good thing going. Oh, what peace! During the later days God graced her with some really good times. She was not sick, not in pain, and in her right mind. She never hesitated to say I love you. She never missed a night without giving good night kisses and saying I love you. She would wake every morning at 4:45 a.m. getting her blood sugar tested and her blood pressure checked. She would pat Darlenes hand and tell her how much she loved her. What a start to a God graced day! My mother was a special lady. She was wonderful to all who knew her. I can only hope that all these folks, and you know who you are, were very special to her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Jewell Miller; husband, L.B. Rogers; son, Al Rogers; granddaughter, Christina Michelle Rogers; one sister; and five brothers. Her survivors include Mary Rogers, wife of Al, of Cisco, Texas, Bill Rogers and wife Jane of Dayton, Texas, Connie Darlene Fountain and husband Tommy of Dayton, Texas, and Willie Rogers and wife Tina of Baytown; sister, Betty Williams of Leveland, Texas; brother, T.J. Miller and wife Nadine of Lubbock, Texas; and sisters-in-law, Glenda Johnson, Opal Hulsey, and Eva Joyce Allen. She was blessed with 16 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; all by blood and love. Also, her precious puppy, Tinkerbell. She was blessed to have an extended family that loved her as their own-many called her Grandma. services are set for 10:30 a.m. , 25, 2015, at Cason Monk-Metcalfs Sunset Chapel, 5400 North St. in Nacogdoches.
