Obituary: Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Emily Ruth Buffington Robinson passed from this life on 26, 2015, in Katy, Texas, at the age of 73. Emily was born on 29, 1941, in Sherman, Texas, to parents James Frank and Mary Louise (Sadler) Buffington. She spent most of her child hood attending school in Brenham and Jacksonville, Texas. When she was 12 years of age, her parents joined USDA Aid to International Development and were posted overseas. Emily attended school in India, Jordan, Ceylon, Switzerland, and graduated high school in Beirut, Lebanon. She then attended Sam Houston State University, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and later returned to earn a Masters Degree in Library Science. She married the love of her life, Tucker, on 28, 1964. During their 51 years of marriage, Emily and Tucker celebrated the birth of Kenneth Tucker, Cynthia Lynn and their ten grandchildren. Emily worked as a PE teacher, owned Emilys Jewelry for 10 years, and spent 12 years as a Librarian. She enjoyed gardening, dancing, playing bridge, and traveling. Emily was preceded in death by her parents, sister Sue (Buffington) Hoffman; father and mother-in-law H. G. and Mary Robinson; and brother-in-law Thomas Robinson. She is survived by her husband Tucker Robinson; children Kenneth & Diana Robinson, Cindy & James Koenig; Grandchildren Michael & Kristy Robinson, Rachel (Robinson) Whitley, Rebekah, Tucker, Trevor, Timothy, Elizabeth, Amelia, Heidi, and Daniel Koenig, and soon to be a great-granddaughter; sister Lynda Buffington McCreary; sister-in-law Phyllis Robinson; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff of Cinco Ranch Alzheimers Special and Vantage Hospice for their excellent and loving care during Emilys final journey. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., , 28, 2015 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn in Rosenberg. Emilys life will be remembered with funeral services at 2:00 p.m., , 29, 2015 at Saint Johns United Methodist Church, Richmond, Texas. Burial will immediately follow at Morton in Richmond, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association. Obituary: Ms. Elizabeth Carolyn Robinson transitioned to her heavenly home after a brief illness, on 10, 2015 at Arlington Memorial Hospital in Arlington, Texas. Carolyn, as she was affectionately called, was born in Florence, South Carolina. She was the daughter of Mr. Leroy Robinson and Ms. Louise Woods. She graduated from Wilson High School in the Class of 1961 and was formerly employed at One Hour Martinizing in Florence, SC for over 30 years before retiring. In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by two brothers, Leroy Robinson, Jr. and Ernest Robinson; and one sister, Mary Catherine Robinson. Left to cherish her memories are: her loving daughter, Sherry L. Robinson of Arlington, TX; two sisters, Jessie Young-Garcia of Lancaster, SC and Jacqueline Robinson of St. Petersburg, FL; three brothers, Billy Robinson of Buffalo, NY, Jackie Robinson of Newark, CA, and Donald Robinson of Florence, SC; two special people: her friend, Ms. Bernice Robinson, and her nurse, Mrs. Shavonn-Wright Downs, who was like a daughter to her, and host of other relatives and dear friends. |
