Steves greatest pride was his two sons, Heath and Brent and his granddaughter, Hannah. He loved working in the Royal Ranger program at his church. He loved people and never met a stranger. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Jeanette Roberts. He is survived by his son Heath, Penni and granddaughter, Hannah. Obituary: Standlee Ector Roberts, Sr., died peacefully at home in Houston, Tx, on 25, 2010. Stan was born on 13, 1923 in Denton, Tx. "Toby" graduated from San Angelo High School in 1942, where he was a member of the track team and president of the dance club, as well as the life of any party. His favorite dance partner was Blanche B McKee, and they were married after the War on 21, 1945. Stan joined the United States Army Air Corps in 1942. He was extremely proud of his service - "Bound by Duty, Honor, and Country". Stan became a 2nd Lieutenant graduating number one in his bombardier class. He logged 3 missions and 27 combat hours in a B-17G before being shot down over Berlin, Germany, on 29, 1944. Stan was a POW in Stalag Luft III Sagan, Poland, and Stalag 7A Moosburg, Germany, before being liberated by the 14th Armored Division on 29, 1945. From that date forward Stan considered 29th his true birthday. Ironically, Stans brother, 1st Lieutenant Nelson P. Roberts, was killed in action on 30, 1945, only 70 miles from Stalag 7A. Stan received the Purple Heart, American Defense Service Medal, EAME Campaign Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, and Victory Medal. Upon returning home, Stan married his high school sweetheart, Blanche B McKee, and attended Texas A & I University in Kingsville, TX. While working on the King Ranch, he earned a B.A. in History and then attended Mexico City , Mexico City, for his Post Graduate Degree. Stan began his working career at U.S. Southland Corporation and later became sales manager of A.Y. McDonald, Dallas, TX. He then became a top salesman for Tyler Pipe and Foundry where he proudly sold all of the cast iron pipe for the Johnson Space and the Houston Astrodome. A man of vision, Stan saw plastic pipe as the future of plumbing. He started his own business as a manufacturers representative for plastic pipe and fittings in 1970. His beloved wife joined him in 1971 and Stan Roberts and Associates, Inc., was born. Shortly thereafter Standlee "Toby" Roberts, Jr., and Gary Roberts, his two eldest sons, joined the business followed later by Carl Roberts and Melinda Roberts Williams. Standlee Roberts was a man of vast interests and intellect. He was a mentor to many and impressed upon all the necessity for continuous self-education. Stan was preceded in death by his wife Blanche B McKee. He is survived by his sons Toby Roberts & wife Patty, Gary Roberts & wife Debi, Carl Roberts & wife Marcia, and daughter Melinda Roberts Williams. He is also survived by grandchildren Stacey Kemp & husband Chris, Creed Roberts and wife Shannon, Austin Roberts, Cade Roberts, Calaway Williams, Kali Roberts, and Brackston Roberts, as well as two grandsons attending the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare and School; Standlee Williams and Tyler Roberts. His great grandchildren include Cord, Clay,and Courtney Roberts, and Paetyn and Paige Kemp. Obituary: Solomon Wiley Roberts 14, 1971 ~ 3, 2012 Solomon Wiley Roberts of San Antonio, Texas, died unexpectedly in a work accident on 3, 2012. He was 40 years old. Solomon was born on 14, 1971 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Charles Harvard Roberts and Consuelo Ortiz Roberts. He was a people person, finding his greatest satisfaction in conducting adventures with family and friends whom he loved. Whether it was snowboarding with nephews in the mountains of Utah or spending time skydiving with friends, Solomon was always game for a new adventure. He also took great pleasure in traveling the world spending time in Hawaii, Dubai, Oman, Alaska, Mexico, the Caribbean, and many other destinations throughout the United States. He took great satisfaction from his service as a Spanish-speaking missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sacramento, California. Solomon was a graduate of Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah with a bachelors degree in Economics. He spent 13 years working as an operations manager for CertiFit Auto Body Parts. Solomon worked in various offices throughout the country including Baltimore, Cleveland, Denver, and San Antonio. He was known as a conscientious manager who cared deeply about his employees. Solomon is survived by his mother, Consuelo Ortiz Roberts, and siblings Rosa (Gilbert) DeWolf, Anna (Rick) Minor, Beth (Billy) Felton, Charla (Roy) Montclair, Dolly (Norman) Wright, Lisa (Corby) Morris, Gabriel (Sara) Roberts, Samuel (Shauna) Roberts, Vicki (Larry) Sexton, and Kathy (Joe) Sheppard. He is also survived by 37 nieces and nephews. Solomon was preceded in death by his father Charles Harvard Roberts, sister, Sariah Roberts, and nephew, C.J. Obituary: Shirley Ann Roberts passed away , Oct. 8, 2010, after a long and courageous fight with liver cancer. Celebration of life: Family and friends will celebrate Shirleys wonderful life at 2 p.m. , Oct. 23, at Shepherd of Life Lutheran Church, 715 E. Lamar, Arlington. Memorials: Gifts in her memory may be made to the organ fund at Shepherd of Life Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society, 8900 John W. Carpenter Frwy., Dallas, Texas 75247. Shirley was born Nov. 17, 1948, to Edgar and Wilma Goff. She was the oldest of two loving daughters. Carolyn, her younger sister, was the joy of her life. She grew up in Denison and was a 1967 graduate of Denison High School. She went on to East Texas State University and received her degree in education. While at East Texas State, she was a member of the Angel Flight Club and the Samothrace Club. graduation, Shirley began her career as a teacher. She taught 17 years at Pope Elementary and eight years at Williams Elementary, and retired after 33 years of faithful service to the children and community of the Arlington school district. During her years of teaching service, she was a member of TSTA. In 1985, she married the love of her life, Norm Roberts. Norm and Shirley were active members of Shepherd of Life Lutheran Church. Shirley lovingly served as a member of the Church Council, Altar Guild and the Building Committee. Shirley was a believer of Christ and had a strong relationship with the Lord. retirement, Shirley followed her husband, Norm, into the real estate business, working for Ebby Halliday Realtors. Shirley was a gourmet cook and always found a way to create the best meals at every church and family function. She was a member of the Arlington Womens Club and Suburban Womens Club. Shirley also enjoyed traveling with friends, especially to Estes Park, Colo., Taos, N.M., and Europe. Most importantly, Shirley loved her family and friends and took very good care of them. Shirley was preceded in death by her father, Edgar Goff. She will be missed greatly by all those who loved and knew her. Survivors: Her loving husband, Norman E. Roberts Jr.; her stepdaughters, Valori Reid and her husband, Peter, Vanessa Lowe and her husband, Richard; her mother, Wilma Goff; her sister, Carolyn Vogel and her husband, Gary; nephews, David Vogel, Brad Vogel and his wife, Jennifer; niece, Caryn Riley and her husband, Chad; grandchildren, Ethan and Cami Reid, and Jordan and Maddie Lowe; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. |

Obituary: Sandra Sell Johnson Roberts was born to Frankie and Virgil Sell on 19, 1935 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The family moved to Houston when Sandra was fifteen. She attended Lamar High School and graduated in 1953. She then went on to attend Texas Tech, where she majored in architecture. two years, she returned to Houston to get a full-time job. Sandra met her first husband, Ben Johnson, and was married in 1957. Ben was an active U.S. Marine stationed in San Clemente at Camp Pendleton. Their daughter Gretchen was born in 1958, and their son Bo was born a year later in 1959. Sandra and Ben divorced in 1961, but remained friends the rest of her life. Sandra worked as a secretary for major chemical companies until she secured a position at Rice University in the office of the Chairman of the Electrical Engineering Department. Gary Roberts was a graduate student in Electrical Engineering when he spotted Sandra on the Rice University campus in 1973. He began hanging around her office, and it was not long before the pair fell in love. were married on 15, 1975. The happy couple, along with Gretchen and Bo, shared a two-bedroom apartment until Gary graduated in 1977 with a doctorate in electrical engineering. the marriage, Sandra changed positions at Rice and worked for the Dean of Humanities, where she remained until she and Gary left Texas. In of 1977, the couple moved to Ventura, California. With Gretchen away at Texas A & M, Sandra, Gary, and Bo began adjusting to California life. Sandra and Gary remained in California for 23 years, spending 18 of those years in Santa Barbara. In the 1980s, Sandra became involved with the Santa Barbara Symphony. In 2000, they moved back to Houston. built a garage apartment behind Gretchens house, and the couple lived there until Sandras death. Gary and Sandra were a devoted couple for over 35 years. brought out the best in each other. Sandra was a source of great strength and encouragement for her husband. At a difficult time in his life, she helped him to once again feel joy and happiness, and showed him how to face difficulties in a more constructive manner. He owes her an incalculable debt that can never be repaid. She was truly a wife, life partner, and best friend, in all the best senses of those words. Sandra, known affectionately by her family as MuMu, has had a fun, full life. She was an avid Rice football and baseball fan, as well as an artist, and loved gardening. It was a comforting sight to her neighbors when they spotted Sandra puttering around her garden with a friendly smile on her face, and a hello! for all who passed by. Sandra passed away 10, 2011. She is survived by her husband, Gary Eugene Roberts; children, Gretchen and Bo Johnson, and 4 grandchildren; Ben, Oliver, Sam, and Stacy. A visitation will be held on , 14, 2011 from 2 pm until 4 pm.
